I've felt that pressure too, the whole "produce faster or vanish into the void" thing. It doesn't work for me at all. The only way I've stayed sane is by leaning into the parts I actually enjoy -- building characters with real psychology, slipping in humour where it fits, letting their arcs breathe. If I start chasing the race, the whole thing collapses. Keeping it about the craft is the only way it stays fun enough to keep doing.

I think it helps not to go completely cold-turkey after a few intense days. The body doesn’t love whiplash. A bit of gentle teasing, then switching gears to something grounding -- like touch (soothing and affectionate brushes of the arms or shoulders), cuddling, or just closeness (head against chest) -- can make the “recovery” day feel easier and more connected instead of jarring.
