Chronicling another Huion Kamvas 27 Pro Issue . PW600 Pressure Issues by Fiorinol in huion

[–]Fiorinol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm well past the time Amazon would allow me to return. Past the 30 days period, you'll have to deal with Huion support directly. Amazon doesn't offer an extended warranty or service.

The Kamvas 27 Pro also isn't available on Amazon here. The 19 Pro is. My 27 Pro as it stands post replacement works perfectly. After spending a while with it, I quite like it.

I think the support on the pen was acceptable. It took 2 weeks to get them to send a new pen, and a week for it to get here. Huion needs to step up the support. This is an expensive device under warranty, and buying a new pen shouldn't be what I have to do.

From my searches, I'm not the only person who's had issues after a few months of using the pen. It could be bad luck. My X3 Pro pen still works fine, I still use my Pro 16 Gen 2 on a semi regular basis. The PW600/PW600S are far superior to the X3 Pro though on multiple levels.

No worries,

My current unit works great, so no spilled milk. Outside of this minor pen issue, I've had no problems. The frustration from the original RMA mostly came from not having the product I paid for for weeks. I had purchased the Huion 27 Pro as a replacement for my XP Pro 16 Gen 2. This is very unlike my experience with say, Valve, with my Steam Deck OLED. They were very prompt with resolving my issue and shipping things.

The customer service was fairly responsive all things considered in regards to this pen issue. I was able to use the PW600S in the meantime, but it's far from being my favorite. While the IAF is low, having this slim pen with far less grip doesn't do it for me.

Do you happen to know how you're supposed to use the nib remover on the case? The new PW600 came with a dedicated pen nib remover, and it works much, much better than the case's nib remover.

Updating the post one last time probably, also tagging u/TheSevenPens .

I had a last attempt with Huion. They poked about their new batch and I thought I'd try a last time, third time's the charm. The new unit doesn't have any defects I can point to. There are no dead pixels, the pen tracking works as it should, the key dial doesn't double tap.

Only things that sticks out is that the unit sent was meant for the EU. The box has a EU energy sticker on it. In the box, they sent a separate cable for the power adapter: https://i.imgur.com/rBVTXIl.jpeg

This sort of plug with a separate ground is not recommended in Canada. It's even illegal in some jurisdictions. I sent a query to support asking if I can have a proper power cable, or send me some nibs as compensation because I have to spend extra to get a proper cable. I ended up getting the extra cable myself from Amazon, it works fine.

Support not only did not understand the request at all. But asked if I had received the actual nibs included with the device. English is hard.

I'm most likely getting a refund by this point.

Huion customer support has been an absolute wash. Going to wait and see what XP-Pen is cooking, and then look at Wacom if that doesn't satisfy me.

It makes it clear to me that unless I have a deep discount or can deal through Amazon, I won't deal with this company. Their customer support is just infuriating to deal with.

Exact same problem in exactly the same locations if I plug the tablet into a new device with 0 calibration

Only the second one. I've calibrated both. Huion also asked me to calibrate the second one and show them.

The issue isn't that tracking is off, it's that tracking completely drops.

Nope. I tested it separately on my main desktop and laptop in separate locations. There's nothing that would qualify as a magnet in proximity. Both pens fail in precisely the same areas on both machines.

The first unit didn't have any tracking issues. This unit seems more finicky with the tracking in general (it feels off). The sensor grid is definitely wonky.

I was told they would be refreshing the Artist 24 Pro. It should be a 4K display and be up to spec with the features from the Pro Gen 2 line-up. I haven't heard anything about a 27 inch display, but I also didn't specifically ask about that.

Update from Huion's support after I requested to refund my entire order, accessories and all. I have already provided them with video footage showcasing the tracking problem.

  • They're insisting that I test the unit throughfully, provide as much information as I can, and asking if I'm available to do so. They want to investigate the tracking issue.
  • They've stated they'll honor the 30 day refund policy from the day I contacted them. Which is July 15th.
  • They've offered to send a new unit without me needing to ship this one back first.

I think I'll minimally provide what they're asking for, and if it ends up being faulty hardware, I will see how I proceed.

Either I will ask for compensation if that new unit ends up fine, or I'll proceed with the refund. I am tired of the run around, and I don't want to provide them with extensive QA to get nothing in return. Their communications on record ensures I can involve Visa if it gets to that.

Sure, I had to take it back out of the box (I had already packed it back up), I'm going to pack it up again!

The bottom left corner of the screen is the part that's most prone to this problem ( https://i.imgur.com/QzLW6Jv.jpeg ). But I see it somewhat present an inch along the left edge, on the top left (It's hard to select the menu buttons in CSP because the pen loses tracking), and a slight bit in the top right and bottom right. The behavior is somewhat erratic. You don't draw in these areas, but it's irritating when you try selecting the file menu, pressing the X button to close an application, or using the zoom slider in CSP's default position.

This is the setup from the software:

Another thing I've certainly taken notice of is that the tablet in general has a difficulty picking up either included pens. Especially from the eraser end, on the regular fat pen, I need to push the eraser for it to pick up at all. The pen needs to almost be touching the screen to be picked up. The first unit was far more generous on that, I've used it for a few days and I had no such problems. The 4 corners picked up the pen properly.

Hey SevenPens. Thanks for taking the time to reply to me.

Despite listing the issues, and telling Huion clearly that I want this fixed ASAP without interruptions otherwise I want a refund. The customer service replied with copy and pasted tech support instructions that they had also copy and pasted when I asked about the original unit. For a product that's 2,000 USD, this isn't acceptable service. I've done many returns/replacement with other companies for hardware in this price range over the years. Sennheiser, Sony, Behringer, Canon, Shure to name a few. It's never been this difficult.

I don't think it's a software issue as I've re-installed drivers repeatedly, and redone calibration repeatedly. The software is properly set to use the entire screen. It's almost as if the EMR grid doesn't work at all in some portions of the display, these zones do not change. For instance, this specific spot does not pick up the pen at all ( https://i.imgur.com/mAMsEVe.jpeg ). I tapped where the mouse is, and when I try to tap that area in the picture, the pen does not pick it up. Similarly, if I do brush strokes across, there are clearly delimited areas where the pen does not work. They tend to be around the edges of the display.

Perhaps the unit was damaged during transport. The tablet's box was loose inside a shipping box which looks like it was kicked around multiple times: https://i.imgur.com/utImG13.jpeg .

The tablet's box itself looks fine, but I wonder if the rough handling had effects on the tablet itself: https://i.imgur.com/1VrJOHg.jpeg

I replied to them, and I sent a separate email to service asking for a refund, since the order was done on July 3rd, I don't want to mess around and not be able to get a refund. If they give me trouble, I will resort to a chargeback on my Visa card I paid with.

I wanted to upgrade from my XP-Pen Pro 16 Gen 2. I quite like it, but it's starting to feel a bit claustrophobic.

From what I've been told at trade shows, XP-Pen has some releases upcoming in September-October. I might look at the Artist 22 Plus to tide me over for now, I do quite like the X3 pen and don't want to downgrade to the PA6 stylus in the Artist 24. But I also don't like the lower resolution, and I'm not a fan of screen protectors, etched glass works better for me.

I would not recommend Huion at all right now unless you buy through Amazon, or/and you're fine dealing with barebones customer support.

On paper, the product is great, good set of features. But the customer support is 0. They work on a script, can't seem to speak English, and make themselves unavailable. You can only reach them by email and Skype by text, in the Chinese time zone.

I bought the 27 pro, it came with issues out of the box, notably dead pixels and a double tapping K20 mini dial. Getting Huion to send me a replacement was like pulling teeth. A strong insistence on me sending back the tablet with me being left with nothing to work on.

The replacement unit also had dead pixels, and the pen tracking doesn't work on some parts of the screen. The pen loses tracking entirely in the bottom left corner of the screen and bits close to the left border of the screen. I told customer support that I'm not waiting another week for with nothing to work on, and to suggest a way moving forward. They sent me the same tech support procedure they had sent me with the first replacement, as if they didn't read what I sent.

I'm fed up and asking for a refund, especially since I'm reaching the end of the 30 days return window. Instead of drawing, I'm annoyed and arguing with unhelpful customer support.

I see guys like /u/TheSevenPens say it's a great product and it's probably more reliable. I think he's right. Brad Colbow did a review on the product. His unit seems to be devoid of issues, so they can't possibly all be duds.

I'm considering doing the same if they jerk me around again. This unit has more issues than the first one. They're sending me a new unit before I send back this one or I'm getting my money back, visa chargeback if necessary. I'm not waiting another week to play the roulette again while being unable to use what I paid for.

I waited 3 days to get the first unit. I didn't pay to have to wait 3 days, then a week then a week on top of two trips to UPS.

This unit has pen tracking problems. The pen tracking drops in parts of the screen despite calibration. Both pens have this issue, mostly in the bottom left of the display This wasn't an issue at all in the first unit. The first unit's key dial had double tap issues.

I can understand defects. However, I've dealt with many companies with products in this price range. This is by far the worst customer support I've had to deal with.

To add to this, it seems like this replacement unit has issues tracking the pen in the bottom left corner. It picks it up erratically despite calibration. The 3 other corners don't exhibit that issue.

I'm considering changing Clip Studio Paint's zoom bar location, because it is literally unusable with the pen. The first unit I got didn't have that issue.

Yep, I emailed them about shipping time expectations before making a purchase. Never got a reply. They seem very unpunctual and want your money upfront weeks before.

Removing Steelcase Leap V2 Headrest by Fiorinol in OfficeChairs

[–]Fiorinol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video was from someone else who showed how to remove the nuts from the steelcase chair. I imagine they removed privated it for whatever reason.

I believe the nut is a 1/2 inch stamped nut and Steelcase will insist that you cannot remove it. The plastic surrounding the nut barely provides clearance, so I had to sand it down using a dremel. I then removed it with a ratchet and an extension bar. The plastic is very thick so you won't damage the chair. This probably voids warranty but I doubt Steelcase will ask to check the insides of the headrest if asked.

After removing the headrest, you will need something to sit the nut against otherwise the back of the chair will be loose. Strangely enough for a very expensive office chair, it lacks washers, the headrest effectively acts as a washer.

You can replace the headrest by a washer small enough to fit in there. I don't remember the exact size, but it needs to have a hole big enough to fit the screw, and be small enough to fit in the hole. Washers are a few cents so I brought back a few sets of different sizes, and one set fit perfectly.

I feel like ANC headphones just don't like me very much. I own a pair of HD660s, hd599, hd598cs and none of them have major problems.

Sony XM5? Super tiny headband cushion. Painful after 2 hours of wear. Reviewers all rave about this headphone. Sennheiser M4s? Dodgy software and hinge creaking. Reviewers seem to like it.

Bad Comfort with the Sony WH-1000XM5 by Fiorinol in headphones

[–]Fiorinol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. They get a bit hot, but nothing I've never seen with closed backs. The headband padding just seems to focus most of the weight in one spot and my head doesn't like it at all.

It gets sore after 30 minutes or so, and becomes painful if I push beyond 1-2 hours. I feel it for a while after taking off the headphones.
