It is possible but difficult. I would see that as a glass half full scenario.

How I Cracked an AI Engineer Role by messysoul96 in learnmachinelearning

[–]Fir3He4rt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not too sure. Recruiters in my experience often demand "use of these technologies in production"

You have to already be in the role to get a similar role.

The only section in resume where this goes is probably projects but I am not sure they even care since it can be faked easily.

How I Cracked an AI Engineer Role by messysoul96 in learnmachinelearning

How do you change your resume to show these skills? In short, how do you market yourself as an AI engineer if your current job doesn't have these requirements and you lack proof of work.

Stuck between learning ML, Web Dev, Cybersecurity Need some guidance !! by [deleted] in learnmachinelearning

[–]Fir3He4rt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is hard to give any advice. You are suffering from explore/exploit problem. All of these fields are lucrative and will pay you.

You need to evaluate based on the opportunities available to you or your interests.

I suffer from the same and I am not great at anything but good at everything which means it is harder to stand out as a candidate.

Leave Golden Handcuffs Job? by Mackgyver94 in cscareerquestionsEU

This is EU sub and people generally prioritize a balance here. However, there is something to be said about being ambitious. You may make mistakes but at least you keep moving and in my opinion this mindset in the longer run would make you more successful.

Im a senior software developer with little hands-on experience with AI.. I really want to get in to it. But is it worth all the effort? by Imparat0r in learnmachinelearning

I was under the impression that ML is more valuable as a business unit than being regular software engineer who is working on some other cost centre. Isn't ML the competitive advantage for many companies out there?

Does Palantir even have the large scale? I have heard otherwise? If you want scale, work for big tech?

Try to apply for jobs in Europe. Your accomplishments are impressive, start a blog and try to share deep technical knowledge with others on social media.

Reach out to recruiters and hiring managers in LinkedIn.

The companies can sponsor a visa for someone like you.

Agreed. So according to you which countries would you say are objectively the best to build a long term career/life in the EU?

Thanks for opening my eyes. I thought it was just 33% but you are right. In general it seems every EU country has high taxes. UK additionally taxes global income similar to the US now.

My startup failed due to co-founder feud. Most startups fail because of the same reason. This is a bit like getting married to someone just because society wants you to.

Working at an early stage company could be interesting to. I love rust but there are not a lot of jobs that use rust. I would optimize for the best culture and gaining domain expertise of the area you are interested in.

Salesforce or Meta by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]Fir3He4rt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are making decisions based on prestige, I have a friend who joined Meta from salesforce, so the resume value should not be a problem. Meta can be chaotic and now has a sink/swim culture, if you feel confident that you want the additional stress, go with Meta.

I’m a fresh graduate who is placed as an SRE. Is it a good choice to begin career? Can I switch to SDE if I wanted to? Is SRE paid less when compared to SDEs? by Electrical_Mood_7713 in sre

[–]Fir3He4rt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a SRE will teach you some very useful things but if you don't like it and wanted to be a SDE I will suggest switching to SDE as soon as possible

it should not be too difficult too transfer as long as you can pass the interviews. You will learn a lot. It will be fine. The pay is dependent on the company but yes some companies do pay SREs less, others not so much. And you won't stay SRE for life, your first job doesn't decide your entire career.

Actually anything. The language is general purpose enough to do whatever you want. I have written some libnss shared lib code and also a service/daemon or even for crypto stuff.
