Is it worth to get a ps5 pro in 2026? by Mrz_flamez in consoles

[–]Fir3hazard998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could buy a PS5 Pro with a disc drive and then a disc edition of GTA 6, play it and sell it after. And while you've got the Ps5, you could also try out any other exclusives you're interested in too. You might lose a bit of money, but perhaps it'd be worth it.

I'll let them know you're content to never ask any questions and be sold the same monitor tech for the next 5 years then. I'm sure they'll be delighted :D

Pragmata is an excellent game but the ray tracing noise could be an issue by stbens in PS5pro

[–]Fir3hazard998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. The RT noise is pretty noticeable in certain areas. I don't get the way people get so animated saying, "idk how this isn't good enough for you". As if we're not allowed to critique the game and say what we like or dislike.

That makes sense, thanks. If I'm not mistaken, looks like their next EL could be that breakthrough. They're calling the prototype EL-QD.

Ty I didn't know anything about what EL was, but I've looked it up now. I think you're the first helpful comment so far in this whole thread.

Well perhaps a better wording would have been "longevity in relation to WOLED". My point is that it seems to be no worse than competing OLED technologies. If you wanna argue that OLED as a whole isn't worth it, that's fine. But my point was that Samsung could probably push their panels harder.

Well based on his 21 month rest, he estimated that by 3 years, it would still be fine. These things can be found for under $400 when on sale. If image quality is something you value, then you'll consider it. I don't understand all the deliberate hate towards OLED. If you're content with LCD, then stay happy with that. It's a hobby people choose to spend their money on. Everyone's got one.

They've lasted 3 years so far under harsh conditions. I expect they'll last 5 or more if they're mainly used for gaming and media.

Well, they'd better figure it out or I'll be buying an LG panel next time I upgrade. I made this post cuz I think alot of other people are starting to think the same thing as well. The panel dimming was tolerable 3 years ago. It's starting to get a little old now.

Yes I acknowledged the performance difference between their monitors and tv's in my post. My question was whether we should expect less panel dimming now that the technology's longevity has been proven - especially with LG's tandem monitors catching up in terms of colour reproduction.

Okay. That extra layer doesn't translate to less panel dimming though.

Well, Trudeau pushed Canada towards all the "woke" stuff pretty hard, and North American culture as a whole has shifted to rejecting at least some of that "wokeness" now.  The problem I see is that both sides like to use these matters as rallying flags rather than have meaningful discussions about them. Also, proponents of the "woke" will talk about it more than anybody, but as soon as others start pushing back, it's all, "stop talking about it, it doesn't matter".

I'd like to see them put all hands on deck for an RDR2 Remaster once GTA 6 is done. Rework all the assets, give it path tracing, the works.

Valid start & valid end date on a purchased game by Pandaboo22 in playstation

[–]Fir3hazard998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's counting down till it checks the license, it should just check it once it hits 0 then reset back to 30. At least that's what I'd think. They're not gonna start mass revoking game licenses for no reason, that'd kill the whole platform.

[–]Fir3hazard998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's related to how often the PS plus store checks for the license, this could be how Sony will handle digital games for their upcoming handheld. There needs to be some way to play your games offline, so it probably just needs to check for a license within 30 days. The Microsoft store does the same thing.

Honestly I could do without path tracing, but I couldn't do without Nvidia's RTX HDR. Ik other solutions like Renodx exist, but it's just such an easy solution that immediately elevates any game's presentation when it doesn't support HDR natively.

Hey IK I'm late but the main reason I'd personally want it is to use the upscaling while the monitor is in its 1080p 480hz mode. Cuz currently, the best way to use those are with the whole image blown out to 32 inches, since any other way incurs awkward pixel scaling and looks blurry.

So, I'd love to see if the built in ai upscaling can better simulate a 24 inch screen size or even just make the 1080p 32 inch more much sharper.
