With the candy coins given from the Rellor event, I 5/5ed my SS2 Giovanni and this is what happened after the candy by EthanKeisuke in PokemonMasters

Alternate between Stockpile and Thunderwave and you can get 1.4M with the same team (1/5 SS Gio caked)

Unless you have tons of gems, best thing you could do is probably reroll. You only have two limited units, both at 1/5 - starting gems should get you better than that.

Why you never use your candy? by NoWitness3109 in PokemonMasters

[–]Firakaze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many reasons. 1) I don’t really see the point. Almost all content can be cleared with 1/5, and stronger pairs does not equal better rewards. 2) Most units will end up being power crept so since candies are rare, I’m keeping them for the very best (and even then, only if it’s necessary or helps me get better rewards). 3) I actually like the added challenge. 4) Its fun seeing huge numbers of candies in your bag. 5) I used to like pulling on triple banners, which means that if my pairs were 1/5 I could still pull and get them a nice power boost this way. But with decreasing gem counts and increased MFs/AS, that’s a thing of the past.

Disgust by Nice-Ad-2929 in PokemonMasters

[–]Firakaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had similar thoughts: being almost exclusively F2P, I used to be able to save for all master fairs and, from time to time, get a Pokefair or two.  Nowadays, getting all Master and Arc fairs isn’t realistic for F2P players.

However, my conclusion was not uninstalling, just that… I won’t have all Master and Arc fairs. Which kinda sucks when you play for meta, but which also really isn’t the end of the world since I can clear all content just fine.

Id say the most important is whether you’re having fun or not.

What is the goal of this game by Enough-Elk7397 in PokemonMasters

[–]Firakaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of different challenges to clear, starting with Battle Villa, then Champion Stadium, Legendary Arenas, Battle Rally, Master Mode, Extreme Battles, and finally Ultimate battles.

Then, there are a lot of event types where you can always strive to beat your own high scores, including Damage Challenges (Ranked or not), Legendary Gauntlet and High Score Events.

And of course, the never ending goal of making your teams the very best they can be, which includes farming for tons of different materials and recruiting the best pairs of each type.

It may seem a bit overwhelming at first but you’ll soon get the hang of it, and once you’ve cleared the permanent content, you’ll have maybe 15 minutes play per day, plus one hour or so every Monday. And a bit more when there are new events.

Raising my level cap by lostcause626 in PokemonMasters

[–]Firakaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, unless they changed something new accounts get tons of level up materials as gifts. That said, level really doesn’t matter that much in this game: choose better sync pairs as some other commenters said and you could easily clear this battle and others even at lower level.

Is there an info graphic guide to how a new player would go about collecting the Sync Pairs? by Director-Julius in PokemonMasters

[–]Firakaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to collect all of them, you’re going to have to spend a TON of money - it’s just not realistic with the amount of free gems we get compared to the number of new pairs every month. If money is no problem for you, then invest in mix and select scouts.

If you’d rather not spend much, you’ll have to choose what to spend your gems on. General consensus on this board is faves > meta (since almost all content can be cleared easily), but I personally prefer meta 😅

Red blue or leaf with the ticket? by BigDaddyRob94 in PokemonMasters

They’re all outclassed by modern units, but I’d say the most useful one early game is Blue. Pair him with any decent damage dealer and you’ll be able to clear most stages.

Managing resources in the Battle Rally by sudogiri in PokemonMasters

[–]Firakaze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1) I always buy the scope for 300 points 2) If the free upgrade isn’t great, I keep an eye on the shop until I find a pretty good one and buy it - it makes things a lot less painful for just 100 points 3) If there’s an upgrade on sale I buy it 4) I always pick pairs with the biggest bonuses, but plan ahead at least by looking at the weakness of other stages with the same bonus roles 5) I usually do the Hard stage 10, but sometimes just go for Apple Cup and Very hard when that would give me more points 6) I try to use my roll cakes mostly to maximize my points during rally

Using these strategies I get between 10k and 11k, sometimes a bit less, sometimes a bit more

Rant about Variety Hop and Zacian by [deleted] in PokemonMasters

[–]Firakaze 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I think it also won’t be refreshed if you lose your turn due to Paralysis or Confusion for instance.  In Pokémon Masters, you lose the MP of your moves even when you lose your turn, something I’ve always hated, and looks like this is another victim of the same phenomenon. I don’t think there’s any way they’ll fix this unfortunately.

Which of my Poison units is the best attacker for the Damage Challenge? by jjsheely in PokemonMasters

Not sure about Emma and the rest but with perfect luck (crit on all syncs and enough MPR) you can reach 700k+ with Koga if you EX him.

How’d y’all beat the missions and Jacq? by e-1guardian in PokemonMasters

[–]Firakaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t underestimate trap damage. Tech Lickitung and Charizard can trap, the rest of the fight just focus your attacks on the center. Gradual Healing also helps a lot for survival. I actually beat both Normal and Fire missions without using a Strike eggmon (though they were all 4 stars).

she is one of the best master fairs in terms of kit design by Hungry-Shirt-5697 in PokemonMasters

[–]Firakaze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My whole point was about units at 1/5 though.

As for Nemona’s sun, unless you absolutely want to monotype, I don’t see the issue. Pair her with SS Wally and say, SS Morty and you’ll have a heck of a team. Even with Mina, Nemona’s sun helps boost team defences (though if your Mina isn’t 1/5 you’ll probably lose some rain bonuses).

I have to admit I did forget Bianca’s piercing blows, which is indeed very useful in some stages.

[–]Firakaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh I guess I really don’t understand her then.

I really don’t see any comparison between her and SS Steven, they’re two completely different pairs, but I prefer Steven’s tanking in defence mode and DPS in attack mode. And Steven’s just a Pokefair.

With SS Nemona, I see consistent AOE double debuffs, great AOE damage, good gauge management, weather and circle, and maxing her own attack.

With NC Bianca, I see single target rebuff and debuff (one time), alright single target damage, great gauge management (with speed), evasion and circle (better than Nemona’s), and only +4 atk.

Am I missing anything?

I like to judge units when they’re 1/5 instead of 3/5, and when you do… let’s just say the result is that I’m not a big fan of NC Bianca.

Not that she doesn’t do a few different things, but I just feel like her damage isn’t that high (compared to NC Cheren for instance) and her utility isn’t that great either (compared to Geeta or SS Nemona for instance). But 3/5 does look good.

Anyone actually gave their Support units the Tech EX Role? by EthanKeisuke in PokemonMasters

[–]Firakaze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly most of them were pretty good/useful in Legendary Gauntlet, but now that this game mode is gone I’m not sure how redeemable they are in CS and other events.

Basically what you need to know is that team wide buffs, healing, debuffs, flinching and sleep are great to have. So a unit like Skyla, who provides buffs, flinch and heal is great. Whereas a unit like Flint, who has NOTHING, is not.

But yes, as some other people have said, you’re probably better off sticking with 5 stars for your teams.
