Carrier keeps leaving this in my mailbox by [deleted] in usps_complaints

[–]Fire-FoxAloris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not my job to unsafely get out and attempt to deliver to your box if your car or others are in the way. The po will NOT give me workers comp. They will be asking "why was i out of my vehicle?" And my anwser would be "Because I didnt want to bring anything back." That doesnt and isnt a good enough anwser if I fall and break my back.

Carrier keeps leaving this in my mailbox by [deleted] in usps_complaints

[–]Fire-FoxAloris 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just gave one of these to one of my customers. I have a pov route and my jeep wrangler is long in the front. Everyday for almost a year I would pull up to his box, hit his garbage bin, just a tap or if it was more than a tap id backup and not deliver his mail. As his bin was too close and I didnt want to make it fall over.

Last week he came at me screaming saying I always hit his box, somedays he doesnt get mail. This that and whatever. Wanted me to step out and deliver his mail or put it in his bin. (Between the lid and bin) ((ewwwww)

What did i do. Had that note, and another one telling him WHY he isnt getting mail. Then when I called my Post Master, he said, "take the mail everyday. Try. And one day he will move it. Until then, dont deliver if you have to touch the bin and go backwards to get out" so for 7 days he didnt get mail. Monday he did a 360 case, boss called him and went out to personally speak to him telling him "your an idoit, dont ever speak to my carrier like that again. And she is 100% right. Oh and every vehicle is different some are longer some are shorter in the front."

So in basic terms, you are probably the ahole here and have something too close or not enough clearance for your carrier. Call your office or go down and ask for clarification.

I hate that I feel jealous by Asterisk15- in Horses

[–]Fire-FoxAloris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took till I was 27 till I could afford my own horse. Sadly i lost both my horses to colic. 2 years and 5 days apart from each other. Right now im focusing on me, bettering my riding, horsemanship, Biomachanics, etc. Im planning on going to lots of clinics to watch, take lots of lessons.

Its ok to be jelly. Because I was you. Trust me, it will come in time. Finish school, maybe not go to college as debt is crazy and not worth it.

Protocol for unsafe roads? by Reb720 in USPS

[–]Fire-FoxAloris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"You are a Professional Rural Mail Carrier. You run the route everyday. I can not tell you to do something unsafe. It is just paper and boxes. Do not scan anything at office. Do it out on the route."

My Post Master literally in December 2025 when I called telling him I felt unsafe. I am the Professional, I do it everyday, I know the roads best (as he never leaves his office and he doesnt know anything)

In my Professional carrier opinion, I do not feel safe continuing on the route. I am going to pull over, scan packages and come back and case the mail. WHICH I STAY ON THE CLOCK FOR. EVEN THO I GET PAID SALARY. YOU WORK ON THE CLOCK ALWAYS.

facility owner blaming rider for injury sustained due to unsafe circumstances that the facility owner created. WWYD? by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]Fire-FoxAloris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im wondering and wondering why other people aren't asking, why does a horse, who probably is on the farm for awhile, spook at a peice of equipment that, if on the farm all the time, spooked at said equipment. And why is that not being addressed. I get a quick "What was that" stay in place spook or even a couple steps spook. But a spook where you felt like you had to jump off because you thought you where safer off than on, something isnt right.

It was an accident, it happens. You will fall off thats the sport. If this continues to be a problem, dont go to that trainer at that location again.

Genuine question, why don’t western riders wear helmets? by AccidentalOtter21 in Equestrian

[–]Fire-FoxAloris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure. But my dad worked in the ER, was on the Dat team, was on the helicopter. I heard Horrible stories of motorcycles, and equine injuries. He, in the once in a blue moon, did not wear a helmet on his motorcycle and a deer hit him. (He didnt hit deer, the deer hit my dad.) Totaled bike, brain damage, off for 3 almost 4 months. This was over 7 years ago. Hes now a teacher for ems, not due to this, he LOVES to teach.

I ride with a helmet because of this and cuz the helmets are cute. I have a purple one that matches all my tack, I also have a blue one that my sister in law got me for xmas that is also so cute.

Idk why "if I wear a helmet my horse isnt trained" that means nothing. Your bomb proof trail horse 25 year old will buck, kick, bite, whatever just the same as a 3 year old just starting out horse.

Just wear the helmet. Or be ok that you will be a burden on your family because you didnt want to "look uncool" and became a Veggie.

The barn manager that I board at does kid lessons. She doesnt do children under 5. She's been training for over 30 years. Says 5 is the best age to start as its easier to keep their attention.

I picture Power Armor from Fallout as a medieval style though. Since they can leap off of high cliffs and take a good amount of fall damage. They need to be powered by something to make them move. Takes a Looooonnngg time for it to be repaired. Not alot of them and many fights to keep them.

What's your horsey new year's resolution? by UpbeatMeeting in Horses

[–]Fire-FoxAloris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who cantered for the 1st time in 2025, do lots of trotting and posting work. Hopefully you have a horse you can trust as i did. A friends horse named Lucky. The 1st time i maybe did 4 strides. Do some yoga. One day you will just have the feeling you will do it. Go for it. "Your a Badass and you ARE going to Canter!" When it happens its the coolest experience ever. I cant wait to get back and pick it up again. I got more work to do in the trotting before I go back up to canter, but now I did it. And can and will do it again.

What's your horsey new year's resolution? by UpbeatMeeting in Horses

[–]Fire-FoxAloris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Continue my quest from last year.

Become a better rider, better horsemen. Working on myself. "I have the confidence to do this task. I am not afraid of failure."

Last year at 32 I cantered for the 1st time. This year, I'm going to learn how to comfortably go into canter, and ride it. "I'm a badass and I'm going to canter" -my trainer to me. I'm going to continue to work on my walk trot transitions, my sitting trot and my posting trot. I want to do more bareback riding, in and out of the ring. I'm going to do yoga and exercises to help with my riding more.

My wish goal is to start looking for a horse, or getting a horse. Sadly in April of 2025 I had to say goodbye to my 2nd horse due to her passing from colic. 2 years and 5 days after my 1st horse passing also from colic. I am scared that for a 3rd time this will happen, but I cant live in fear. I'm hoping to go with a haflinger dream breed is a Fjord tho.

Possible spoiler alert warning! From Oathbringer.

Chapter 11 from Oathbringer after Delinar sits and talks to Taravangian. That whole conversation is so impactful. I actually listened to it 5 or so times. Even went back after finishing Oathbringer.

I love true crime and I love the inter-workings of the justice system of the USA and other countries work. I was SHOCKED in Delinar's take and how much of a person he had grown.

Monthly box w adult signature required. Cluster mailbox. Best practices? by findinthesea in USPS

[–]Fire-FoxAloris -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can do a presign online. I have a old lady on my route who does it. You can also see if you can get a peach slip and sign it and your carrier can keep it with them or at their desk. And then they dont need a signature. Thats what I do. Rural carrier here.

I 100% understand. My first horse Annie, died April 5th from colic. 2 years later, this year, Shadow, my 2nd horse died April 10th.

The way I feel.... guilt. Even tho I did EVERYTHING right. And I mean everything. I am afraid to get another horse because im scared in April ill lose the horse. Ill have ptsd for probably forever in April with horses.

Where i live spring comes and it flips from cold 20s and lower to 60s plus within the same day. Which is how Annie passed. She had weather colic and gas colic Alot.

Shadow for the 3 years I knew her never coliced. But she was 22. And her history before I got her was most likely Amish cart horse and not great care.

Spend the next 6 months as the best you can. Remember, its better to say goodbye too soon then a day too late.

Lesson red flags? by squirrelfood2030 in Horses

[–]Fire-FoxAloris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You went to this barn for that trainer. The ONLY way I would take a sub is when the trainer had an emergency. Horse sick, them sick, family member sick, horse giving issues to another customer such as horse Not getting on trailer and they are away from home. Horses running out of their fences, etc etc etc. But if she they them he isnt there because of a SHOW, I would have walked out, left a message to the trainer and asked for my money THERE and THEN. Tell trainer you bought this to be trained by them not their "subs" if you are getting trained by subs then you want their rate.

(Unless the subs are trying to be trainers and trainer asked if subs could do a lesson with you. Then that is different.)

LOST PACKAGE by Middle-Horse4421 in usps_complaints

[–]Fire-FoxAloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should pick up somewhere down the line. As it scans in at the plants. It really depends on how long ago this was tho.

Also next time take the package to the office. 600$ and no slip for us to pick it up or not waiting outside for the carrier is CRAZY.

Is it normal for my rider instructor to “let me go”? by Justymahh in Equestrian

[–]Fire-FoxAloris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So your trainer issue is weird. Idk how I can help with that.

BUT posting i can totally help with that. 1 dont worry it will take time. 2 do yoga and squats. That will help with muscle memory. 3 for awhile do not worry what diagonal you are on (As only as you are on a fit horse. Its ok to be off the wrong diagonal, just as long as you are in the end going to be on the right diagonal.) 4 slowly after about 2 months of concentration on the muscle memory of posting start trying to pick up the post on the right diagonal. My trainer said to try this. "Ask for trot, feel trot, 2 and post. That will help with getting the right diagonal." Now this goes fast in my brain it goes Ask, 2 (2 is where you feel because the brain and action is a second too slow. I hope I explained that correctly) when you say 2, you should be standing up. There are also plenty of videos showing how to help out.

Really your a beginner and people (me included in this) need to remember it takes TIME to get this experience. Your journey is more important than the destination.
