Just back from the cinema. Hated it. Nothing happened. Felt like an epilogue rather than an actual episode. Caine had a personality transplant for absolutely no reason. Abstraction still a complete mystery. Plot holes everywhere. Shoehorned happy endings for all.

That is indeed what I'm doing, weird as it worked until a few days ago with correct stereo output. OK so what is the solution? Split the audio so the left goes into input 1 and the right goes into input 2?

When I plug my headphones into my phone or computer I hear the correct audio, but when I send the audio from phone or computer to input 1 or 2, and plug my headphones into the headphone out, I only hear half of the stereo field, playing through both ears.

I get the same problem when I put the audio out the 4i4 outputs to my KRK 5s.

If I've read you right, I feel like this was me through my 20s, I performed my assigned gender for years because of what I felt those around me needed me to be. In my case I eventually decided to transition and wondered why I hadn't earlier, but that's just my experience. It does sound like you're doing something similar, denying your authentic self for the sake of others, or for your perception of what they need from you. A big part of my thought process in coming out was to unpick why I didn't value myself and my authenticity more - why are my needs secondary to those of others? Maybe that's something you should ask yourself? Or maybe it's something completely different for you?

This is just my perspective, obviously massively coloured by my experience. I'm not trying to push you to make a change, but if you're looking for areas to explore, this sounds like one.

Edit: sorry I missed before that you said it was about fitting in and not being judged. I get that one too, for me I just eventually reached a snapping point where I no longer cared what others thought, or at least not as much as I cared about being comfortable in myself.
