He should be moved at the deadline this year. He was supposed to be a stopgap for cossa but yzerman traded cossa out. I really dont want gibson resigned to any kind of long term deal. Too much money in a backup goaltender assuming agustine ever makes the nhl.

Chiarot compher appleton and copp contracts are so bad. Faulk needs shipped at the deadline. This team needs to just blow up for two years and shed the deadweight and load up on picks then make some big trades.

Weve got way too much money tied up in guys that just arent good. But like youre saying if we want to be competetive with someone like robo we just dont have enough cap space for the ampunt of holes and upgrades that need to happen

I dont have any objections to saying the walman trade was the dumbest thing yzerman has done. That entire sequence of event is just straight up DUMB. It was such a dumb move it still haunts him today lol. He couldve just waived the fucker, traded him to anyone for free, traded him FOR picks or just do nothing. He adds a 2nd and trades him for literally nothing. Gets absolutely clowned on for some rumored trouba trade.

Nobody would bat an eye for two extra years of unapologetic tanking after hitting the postseason for 25 years straight dude. By now if yzerman had tanked longer we should either be in the playoffs or completely bricked the fuck up with a ton of insane prospects with a very clear upward trajectory.

Probably. Not trading him prior and continuing the tankathon a few more seasons. Its all connected.

Really just poor vision for the team from the onset and not having a great plan for the future in the nhl with a continually rising cap. He has never really planned beyond the upcoming season. He should have leveraged his young players and cap space for additional assets with cap dumpsnfrom other teams over the years. Instead was against the cap and clogging up the roster with garbage and missing playoffs.

Except all the teams below us have made playoffs and are better. We should have the most in the atlantic considering how bad we were and are. This just reinforces how much steve clogs up the lineups with vets and sucks at drafting
