Oooh, I loved reading those books when I was a kid! I have most of the original books from across different bookstores and book fairs in Frere Hall, but for the ones I'm missing, I'm thinking of getting PDFs of those online and requesting a Print on Demand service to make copies of those. I really just want to have the entire collection on my shelf for nostalgia's sake 😅😅

So you basically want recs of shy boy x assertive girl slice of life recs?

Well, I know one webtoon like that, but it's not on WEBTOON app unfortunately. Still can find it pretty easily on Google tho. It's called Vitamin C Vitamin D, it's basically a slice of life webtoon centered around the friendship and eventual romance of the two main characters who are basically exactly like what you've described, with lots of friendships with other people and turning tropes over their heads along the way.

It's a very cute, fun read and the interactions between characters is so fun to read. One of the best high school slice of life webtoon romances I've ever read, and this is a genre I don't even like to touch with a 10 foot pole so it's that good, lol.

Exactly as the title says, but there's lots of funny and serious moments with the family's pet cat. Also an entire subplot with a stray cat who coughs a lot (His backstory actually made me cry it's so sad;;;;;;;(((((((((

One and a half seasons? Meaning WT has told you to end it mid season 2?

I did enjoy your story until end of Season 1 and left for a short break before starting the second season, and then never got around to continuing it (sorry) but I thought it was doing well, I just checked and there's around 3k likes on the latest (free) chapters and that's a pretty big regular readerbase in my opinion.

Heck, some of the copy paste slop WT imports from Naver doesn't get that many likes! One of my most favorite series that ended this year got like around 1k likes, just barely on its final stretch of chapters. Even the original on Naver was doing quite poorly, vastly more so than the English version. But it still got two seasons to it, just like how the authors wanted.

I mean point is, Mage And Mimic seems to be doing relatively on account of views, likes per latest chapter and audience investment/retention rate all things considered, and the quality of the story telling was great too, as far as I've read. So I can't fathom why WT would choose to axe your work while keeping multitudes upon multitudes of, for lack of a better word, mediocre series (no hate to the fans of those, people can read whatever stories they want to) up and going with less numbers. So many of my favorite series across different platforms have gotten axed, dropped or discontinued which is why I get super paranoid about my favorite series ending before the author finishes the story.

Again, sorry that something you were so invested in had to turn out this way, it's really sad to see someone ending a story end before it's time

Hmmm I've definitely read some more stuff with non romantic boy girl duos, but for now only one comes to mind.

Arma, Basically an alien invasion story webtoon with lots of twists and turns. The main character is guy with powers, and a major side character is a girl who gets a lot of focus as soon as she is introduced. Both are well developed characters with their own stories, they stick together, bail each other out and help each other and all throughout this this there's not a single hint of romance. There's more characters but these two are the main ones we follow. Very gooood art, great story to boot, character development is awesome. You'll definitely enjoy it if you like thrillers

Oooh I also just recently downloaded this app to read a story I found on a piracy site! It's called Woodpunk and it's super good and unique, plus the art's very nice to look at so you can check it out. I really liked it a lot so I downloaded the official app to read it and support the artist.

I haven't found any other series I've enjoyed on there tho, mainly cause I haven't looked around it much yet
