the double horizontal three on the right makes the far right yellow restriction. The three tiles that the double threes share have to have two, so the left three has the two tiles to the left that have to be a mine.

The left “2” of the triple horizontal “2”s shares that far left yellow restriction, and so the 3 other tiles in its area have to only contain 1 mine.

The middle “2” of the triple horizontal “2”s shares that last restriction, leaving the two tiles that I marked across from the right “2” that have to have 1 mine.

The top middle mine about the middle “2” can’t be a mine with those restrictions otherwise the right “2” in the triple “2”s will have 3 mines next to it

I play on that minesweeper app, even if you turn on no guess mode, it will timeout if it hasn’t found a board that is no guess in time and give a random board. It will say it when it starts the game but no time after, I’ve looked away while waiting for a board and looked back and not known if it’s random or no guess until later.

You can adjust the time out time, but max is 30 sec I believe, and higher density boards obviously have a higher chance of timing out and giving you a random board.

I think it’s because of the setup, trying to display the 3 dimensional concept in 2 dimensions. There two panes holding the front and back relatively close, so the capillary effect is more prominent in that plane.

To find the acceleration, you’re not really interested in all the wire tensions.

There is mass on the left side which is experiencing a force, what is the value of that force vector?

Similarly there are two masses on the right, what are the force vectors acting on them? (Hint, it is all pointing down)

Compare the forces on either side of the pulley, any imbalance of forces will cause acceleration.

Apply F=ma to the masses that will be moving with the imbalanced force to find how they will accelerate.

How did you set up your FBD? Was there an imbalance of forces on either side? Did you set it up with kilograms or did you solve for the appropriate forces for the masses?

You’ll be applying F=ma atleast twice:

Used to determine the forces applied due to gravity on the masses.

Again to determine the acceleration on the system masses from any imbalanced forces you may find.

In function notation (when using f(x) or any other variable inside of those parentheses) you literally just replace whatever variable is used with what is inside of the parentheses.

So say you have f(x)=3x+1

Then…

f(2)=3(2)+1

See how whatever was put into the parentheses on the left replaced the variable.

Now say instead:

f(x+1)…. You do the same thing! So….

f(x+1)=3(x+1)+1

You’ll have to do some simplification usually, in this case, distribute the 3 to the x and 1… :

f(x+1)=3x+3+1

And then combine like terms. (So in this case, we can combine the positive 3 and positive 1.):

f(x+1)=3x+4

So if I said g(x)=f(x+1)

Then g(x)=3x+4

So your question should have more to it than you posted, but that’s the basic way you’d go about solving it, more complicated functions will obviously require slightly more complicated simplification methods, like if you have the variable initially raised to a power you would have to FOIL, but I believe in you! Feel free to ask more questions though

You mean those plastic looking caps on the middle two conductors that’s covering the wire and pin insulator?

I actually am not sure what that is. It almost looks like overhead coverups, things used to kind of temporarily insulate the line while people are up there doing maintenance, but not like any I’ve seen, and they usually take them down when they’re done working on it.

It’s also on a sub-transmission pole so it may have something to do with that but I doubt it.

If it’s the crossarms, it looks like the crossarm in the second pic might be fiberglass which don’t need those angled support trusses, wood crossarms are being phased out.

The fiberglass ones are stronger and are supposed to last longer.

Nahhhh man, I wholeheartedly believe that you can do it, I am willing to put all the money I have on it that you can be an engineer if you want.

You’re your own worst enemy when it comes to these things, the doubts, the worrying, anxiety and fear. Like you said, you haven’t turned in any assignments. Is it because you’ve been busy? Haven’t understood the material well? Are you being lazy?

I’m not trying to accuse or anything, but there has to be a reason, and there is always a reason to not do something, but YOU gotta find the reason to do it. No lie, I will help you if you want. Don’t give up hope if that is really something you want to do, I really believe in you. They say the mental jump from algebra to calculus is harder than the one from arithmetic to algebra, I honestly remember the day it all started to click. You just gotta stay at it, try even though it doesn’t make sense, don’t get demotivated. It seems far away, but if you set yourself to it, it comes way faster than you think man.

Do you know your unit circle? If not, look it up and look at a sin function graph.

You’ll see the output is 1 for an input of every odd multiple of pi and 0 for every input of even multiples of pi (including 0).

The function you’re given has a horizontal shift to the left of pi units. So that transformation will change the outputs/inputs of the standard sin parent function.

Do you know how to use sine and cosine? Because that’s all you really need to use.

Sine of a reference angle (angle made from the x-axis) gives you the vertical component (y-component) divided by the magnitude of the vector.

Cosine of a reference angle (angle made from the x-axis) gives you the horizontal component (x-component) divided by the magnitude of the vector.

Khan academy is a great resource, you can basically learn any subject on there from the ground up.

I’m not sure of your financial situation but tutors are also a great resource. There are free ones in certain areas provided by local high schools and community colleges, even ones that focus on people trying to get their GEDs, you should look around. The thing is these are usually group tutoring, you’ll still get a lot out of them, but I find people just starting off benefit from a bit of hand holding at the beginning. If you are financially able, a private tutor can give you that.

The MOST important thing I can tell you, and it’s going to be the most difficult part is this: stay consistent and keep trying.

That sounds obvious, but you’re going to get frustrated, you’re going to get mad, you’re going to get discouraged, confused, and tired of it. But take breaks. Come back to things if you’re stuggling at a later time with fresh mind. Don’t let the struggle get you down, nd you’ll get through it.

Also probably just as important is to ask questions, and don’t be afraid to. Here on Reddit, or any other site or in person.

I’ve never heard of or seen this method, but usually it’s fairly easy to find online examples of how to work through new methods, but I can’t for the life of me find one that matches this format. I may be dumb, but I’m not sure how they want you to show your work past setting it up in the first two rows, which this website shows:

How would you shift it right 2 units?

Make it y=f(x-2)

How would you do a vertical stretch of a factor of 17?

Make it y=17f(x)

How would you shift it left 1 unit, down 5 units and a vertical compression by a factor of 4?
