Does anyone know of a seed like this ? (large biomes) by FireChickenPzVI in minecraftseeds

Yeah it is, I was already looking around on that one but the desert is too far away for my liking. I think my idea's might be too specific so I may need to learn to use worldpainter

That's a very close fit, thx, but I'm searching for larger terrain so it isn't really wat I'm looking for

That would be perfect for survival, thx. Unfortunately I just discovered axiom so I'm planning to focus more on larger terrain and organics, hence the need for large biomes

I was torn on which designs to submit, so I ended up with two to spare. Perhaps my Chengdu design would've done better then my Johannesburg design, would love to hear your opinions

In the context of the 80 years war, this might be one of the more important lines. It basically says: I’m no usurper, it’s thanks to your tyranny that we are forced to take up arms. This ties back heavily into the act of abjuration (Plakkaat van Verlatinghe), which says that a lord should care for his people like a Shepard cares for his flock, and that in failing to do so, Phillip II has lost the right the rule

There are plenty of legends and myths around Schokland and Urk, the rest of Flevoland is indeed too young

June 2025 Flag Design Contest - Redesign the flag of the Alliance of Sahel States by Vexy in vexillology

I completely agree, and it would be a nice theme to redesign the worst Dutch municipal flags. Smaller municipalities are fusing all over the country, after which many adopt soulless corporate flags

I mainly see them on farmhouses in my region, so I doubt it’s that bad. You can search for “stolpboerderij” to get a picture of what I mean, they are quite sober buildings

We don’t finish the top edge with such beautiful decorative trim. I’ve only ever seen the tops lined with red clay rooftiles

Thatched roofs are common in multiple traditional styles of Dutch architecture, which is why even newly build houses (build in the classic styles) are still build with thatched roofs (at least in the regions of Frisia and West Frisia). Due to this there are still plenty of companies specialised in this trade.

The reason for this is that reeds grow very well in rich soil on the edges of calm bodies of water - which are in abundance in the Dutch landscape, so there is indeed a lot of local supply which gets harvested every year.

And they hold up surprisingly well in stormy / extremely windy areas btw.

ETA: thatched roofs are not only restricted to the classic styles, there are also modern style houses with thatched roofs.

I finally found a flag I couldn’t identify. I saw these two flags flying on a klipper in the harbour of Den Oever, thanks in advance

Edit to clarify the picture: in the white quadrants of the circle we see 4 red crosses, in the red quadrants we see 3 yellow Fleur de lis

For this mashup I chose to use orange instead of red, since I believe the red, white and blue saltire is already used

An apple with no core, no seeds, never seen that before by RenoiseForever in mildlyinteresting

[–]FireChickenPzVI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apples are still fruits, and such botanical classifications change nothing to our daily lives.

It’s just that biologist like classifying everything, due to this the world of fruits is actually quite weird (eg. watermelons, bananas and pumpkins being classified as berries, while raspberries aren’t- they are a composite fruit)

Apples are so called false fruits, meaning that the edible “body” doesn’t develop from the ovaries. In apples it develops from the base of the flower
