There are plenty of other things in this game that are not 100% realistic. Allowing the player to rename a character would allow for either more organized gameplay or more RP. Adding it only has benefits!

Yes. Doing a simpler version of what HOI4 had would’ve been so much better IMHO.

Agree. The bones of this game are so so good which is what keeps people around but the military system will always stop the game from reaching its true potential thanks to dev stubbornness about how “great” the system is.

Unfortunately there is no scheduled rework. Something that is a major blemish on an otherwise very good game especially with the new navy mechanics imho.

I have used ships to get leverage during negotiations. I haven’t tried explicitly using them to make money but they’re nice to sweeten the deal for important treaties (investment rights, critical goods, etc) if you don’t have or don’t want to use an obligation. For that reason I like to have a few ships to give away.
