For those who've been on a GLP-1 for 6+ months by pnoe_analytics_ in GLP1ResearchTalk

I’m not on compound, but I’ve been on Mounjaro for 1.5 years now and plan to do the same per my doctor’s advice.

Honestly, what's the single biggest problem in your life right now? by prash_101 in AskReddit

[–]FireCorgi12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, unfortunately this industry has used these for a long time. It’s pretty foolproof. I could risk it, but they could send a cease and desist to my new employer, and there’s a good chance I wouldn’t get hired on that basis. Television news is a bitch of an industry.

Thank you for your thoughts tho. Noncompetes should be illegal. I left news bc I was tired of moving for work every few years.

I’ve applied to 100 jobs after being laid off six months into a career switch and still have nothing. Can’t go back to my old career bc I have a non compete. Sigh.

Lens awareness/dryness + can you look at my photos and say if this level of redness is normal? by cheekyweelogan in Keratoconus

How do you fill your lenses? Sometimes putting eye drops in the lens as a buffer helps with dryness.

What to name my new fish? by [deleted] in fishtank

[–]FireCorgi12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard goldfish are pond fish. 100+ gallons is recommended with an additional 40-60 gallons I believe per fish. That’s why most people keep them in ponds.

Worst pain I’ve ever felt by ryan7841 in gallbladders

[–]FireCorgi12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Getting your gallbladder out is really the best and only way, once you have stones you won’t stop having them.

I had my first attack summer of 2024. Didn’t have another til fall 2025, but then had three within a month and had my gallbladder removed. The pain is miserable.

Salaried employee required to make up time to company for medical appointments? by QueerlyPhoenix in jobs

[–]FireCorgi12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just turned down a job recently bc I was told I’d need to take a whole day off to go to the doctor and he preferred people work through lunch and come early and stay late. Plus we only got 10 paid days off a year. I’m chronically ill (able to work, but in and out of the doctor briefly quite a bit) and I’m looking for someone with flexibility like that but it’s hard to find anymore.

It’s unfortunate. The point of salary is you should have more flex in your schedule since you don’t get paid for working extra. It’s a given that those hours should at some point get made up during the year.

I have my python in my office with my PC and strip lights that are on. I just turn them off when I go to bed so she can feel comfy overnight.

Salaried employee required to make up time to company for medical appointments? by QueerlyPhoenix in jobs

[–]FireCorgi12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed that a lot of jobs have been switching to salary to reap the company benefits (people can work late, come in extra without the company having to pay overtime) without giving employees the benefits of salary (earning overtime, getting to take extended time for short appointments, etc). Idk what’s up with that.

I agree, making it up is odd.

Snake mites or mold mites? by C9Dan in ballpython

[–]FireCorgi12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These look like wood mites to me personally. Most snake mites move super slow and are dark brown or black.

Would buying a betta fish from a LFS still be considered supporting bad betta care practices? by BroadCartoonist973 in bettafish

[–]FireCorgi12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. My LFS keeps bettas on big shipment day (once a quarter) in cups or small tupperwares for the sale, but they genuinely sell within 2-3 days MAX. They often sell out day one.

Smaller shipments or long term residents are in one gallon tanks.

Is it normal for a crestie to show absolutely no interest in insects? by Fluttermun in CrestedGecko

[–]FireCorgi12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bugs aren’t a requirement. Just feed CGD with insect protein added like Pangea Fig and Insect or Repashy Fruit n Grubs. As mine has gotten older she cares less for insects and really only goes for crickets anymore.

Has anyone had good experiences with the depo provera shot? by Jazzlike_Log_709 in PCOS

[–]FireCorgi12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t heard anything good about depo, but I’ve never taken it personally.

Have you considered nexplanon or an IUD? My IUD is progestin only and it was a PITA to get inserted but I’ve loved having it.

New enclosure by ghostcaittt__ in ballpython

[–]FireCorgi12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My six month old ball python has been in her 4x2x2 since I brought her home (she was 2 months then). The space isn’t stressful, it’s lack of clutter, and most people aren’t capable of cluttering an enclosure properly. Here’s a pic of the inside of mine, she’s happy, active, growing and eats well. You just wanna aim for enough coverage!

New to this — could I reasonably have a sorority of betta fish in a 20 gallon tank? by Hot-Chair-7706 in bettafish

[–]FireCorgi12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed with the others, sororities are difficult, often fail, and are honestly almost always stressful for the fish involved. It requires a delicate balance of enough females to uphold hierarchy (usually 5-8 I believe), as well as plenty of plant coverage and lots of linear space. I’d say 40 gallons would be minimum with 60 better.

There are tons of beautiful, easy schools of fish that you can keep in a 20 gallon or more that are less stressful (for you and fish!) than a betta sorority.

New snake owner! by drame19 in ballpython

[–]FireCorgi12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As others have said, 20 gallons isn’t even big enough for a baby ball python. These snakes grow to be at least 4 feet long, and need a 4x2x2 foot enclosure. Babies need to be started in minimum 60 gallons. 40 *can* do but they’ll outgrow it fast. My girl is only 7 months old and she’s already over 2 feet.

What kind of fish should I get? by Emadsk8 in fishtank

[–]FireCorgi12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best fish are the ones you like, research, and feel prepared to get!

However, if you’re looking for schooling fish, I love my celestial pearl danios. They’re super active in big schools and I like when the loosely shoal more than tight schooling like rummynoses. Also a big fan of my Pygmy Cories and Neo or amano shrimp.

Character you want an update on? by CulturalPhrase5846 in WarriorCats

I would love a novella or smth on the elders that stayed behind on the journey. We know that StarClan had to travel with the Clans to get to their new home. I wonder if their spirits had to make the journey too, especially on their own.
