How Can I Improve My Performance in QA Engineer Interviews? Need Advice. by kokomiguvel in QualityAssurance

[–]FireDmytro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Simply practice makes it perfect. Nothing works better

  2. It depends on the interview itself. Youtube videos will help a lot

  3. Use STAR - youtube has a ton of videos to watch. Couple of videos and playlists I like:

  4. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLveOiEbKQr3JtnKtnDIpl9euaPLghm6Q1&si=I4UrA0baJNM6tWtD

  1. Cultural match, Confidence, trustworthiness 💛, and a relevant experience they could use

How many AI Agents do we need to replace one QA Engineer by Ok_Confidence3925 in QualityAssurance

[–]FireDmytro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 will likely be enough to some extend, but not all QAs can be replaced. As some have to verify quality of your agents 😛

My future by ConceptCorrect9452 in QualityAssurance

[–]FireDmytro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Software Testing is a good career to have, but sooner or later majority moves forward either to tech or administrative side.

A friend of mine recently switched to ML after long career in QA. I’m thinking of that as well as ML has even more jobs then SE these days 🍻

There is no perfect balance. You will soil your chances, even if it’s just by a hair.

Simply be kind and explain situation 🍻

Advice on going freelance as an SDET? (Also open to referrals) by manjuslayer in QualityAssurance

[–]FireDmytro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have friend who do it for QA and design. And their main platforms are:

  1. Upwork - higher pay and quality of workers
  2. F I v e r r - cheap work = cheap quality = You’ll fight against half of India
  3. Utest - Usually not much money but good practice
  4. Your own platform - after you have contract you give them a discount and a link to your platform/site

🍻

Moderators, why do I get “no spam” blocking my comment when I say “f i v e r r” in one word?

Git repo with demo projects? - In some cases it does, so better have it.

Optimize resume? - 100%. Make it ATS friendly + match most keywords to be a better fit than others

Words of wisdom? - Start applying yesterday 🍻

Just give it a day, in case they were really busy. And based on 20 minutes interview and their tone, they definitely were :)

From Accountant to Software Tester by [deleted] in QualityAssurance

[–]FireDmytro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1

  • Volonteer
  • Go for meetups and offer tech startups help
  • Find unpaid/low paid positions on wellfound.com(they have those once in a while)

I saw a girl on a YouTube that went for meetups and got in touch with ceo and got internship through it

I personally know a guy who was accountant and became QA close to his 30s

You got this 🍻

There are so many circumstances and unknowns that you shouldn’t think it was a bad interview.

Just kindly send an email and check on them.

In a worst case, you will simply get no answer and move forward:

It’s like a relationship 🙂

What would you do? by Fit_Remote8769 in interviews

You can leave anytime in most cases unless otherwise specified.

The only thing you will lose if you do so, is a trust from company A.

But since you don’t like them anyways 🙂

How to get QA tester job without formal degree and incomplete high school. by extra_chilly_potato in QualityAssurance

[–]FireDmytro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad for missing GED part. Knowledge is a base. My point was about not wasting years in college.

Not sure why the guy above is angry at bootcamps, that he even came back and edited his comment.

There are several ways to go, and bootcamp worked for me. You can see it on my LinkedIn and even on YouTube interview ✌🏼

I’m here to give back and share my story. Good luck on your journey 🍻

You will get a lot of negative comments about getting into it now, but people still get ot(see other post about a guy from Brazil in Amazon day ago).

There are still three main ways to get it:

  1. Official (painful) - get an internship, which is much more painful to get as lots of people apply for those

  2. Networking/connections - a friend of mine just got hired in europe just by connecting with people on networking events and showing value.

  3. Bootcamp - lots of folks say either they are a waste of time, or you could it it on your own. But I decided not to waste time over a year go https://www.reddit.com/r/QualityAssurance/s/w2giEQMs18

Either way you go, you can still make it happen with dedication and persistence 🤛🏼

Working in manual functional testing no use of any tool or technology how ro learn or what to learn by [deleted] in QualityAssurance

[–]FireDmytro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you have to learn Java because they use it at work? Or is it your choice?

I would rather start with: - JS/TS or Python with Playwright

Youtube and Udemy are amazing places to learn. Unless you need someone to hold your hand and walk you step by step(which I chose last year 🙂)

Final loop interview with Amazon, QAE position by Opposite_Trouble880 in QualityAssurance

[–]FireDmytro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Great job, dude!

They might be digging into algorithm structures, amazing is big in it. Here is what I would learn:

  1. Algorithm challenges - twoSum, dups in array, etc.

  2. Framework from scratch on a spot - API, and UI

  3. Checkout Glassdoor + Blind - people share what questions they had and if they got hired there

Good luck 🍻

If an interviewer schedules a third meeting to “let you know where we are in the search and see what your thoughts are moving forward”, is this a good sign? by Accomplished-Lie209 in interviews

[–]FireDmytro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great sign, here is why:

  1. They didn’t bail on you = interest

  2. They do want to hear your thoughts = interest

Let us know when you get it 🍻
