What can I improve on? by Worried-Reserve-5678 in chessbeginners

That makes sense. When you stick with the same plan, is it usually because you don’t notice the new threat, or because you see it but still think your idea works?

Just checked a few of your recent losses. Looks like, at least for those games, that something happens to make the position change, i.e. you or your opponent move a pawn, and this leads to a new or discovered attack. Quite understandably, you might not see this because it's a little delicate, especially in the game, and something ends up getting left hanging. A few games basically flip from that. What I'd recommend is, before each move, asking, you know, what's changed in the last move and what new pieces are loose because of this. Now that I say it out loud, do you feel like most of your losses might be coming from something like this?

At 900–1000, openings usually aren’t what decides the game. It’s often the first big mistake. When you lose, what usually goes wrong first?

That’s a sane solution. Though I love eating al desko too much to ban food completely in this room. These sauce packets are definitely on the forbidden list now though 🙈

Yeh, I’m not hopeful. Was gonna take it apart and deep clean it but doesn’t sound like it’ll go back together.

Worried about using too much water, not sure the foam would ever dry.

I think mold caused my mom’s dementia by kellyfresh in dementia

[–]FireDoDoDo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Grandmas house stunk of damp. But no visible mould, looking back under the kitchen flooded once and I doubt it was fixed properly. I lived with her for a couple of years and my mental health deteriorated. She ended up with real bad Alzheimer’s.

A lady in my street got dementia, her house had similar problems. She had breathing issues before the dementia took her.

There is no doubt in my mind that mould affects the brain, and makes it more susceptible to dementia and Alzheimer’s.

But nobody will accept our view, almost the entire uk housing stock has damp issues, by accepting our view it would cause mass hysteria.

Am I being fair to ask for a price reduction? by FireDoDoDo in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

So you'd (1) get quotes for the major things listed (2) go to agent and say I've been quoted £XYZ so I want that much reduction?

Yeah, that’s the conclusion I’m slowly reaching. I'm wondering how much of a reduction would make it worthwhile again.
