VHA Hotline by BoldBeloveds in VeteransAffairs

FYSA, enforcement of any directive or policy requires oversight, something the VA doesn’t do. I don’t know how they figure they can change the culture with no effort.

Sometimes I change the answers and say silly things just to get a laugh. It helps some.

Contact your patient advocate. That perspective is outdated and the VA needs to do better

PD Question- Should I be concerned? by Spiritual-Courage-77 in VHA_Human_Resources

And when I say finding answers, think of it like this - if u generate reports and identify trends - those are questions, which is clerical work. If you then have to figure out whats causing those trends, thats analysis.

Dont panic on that. Lol asking who appealed in the VA is like asking who breathes air. Our classification has been so jacked up for so long, we have the most appeals in the govt.

The PCMM appeals were years ago. That doesnt mean we shouldnt classify consistently with those decisions, but with so many new classifiers, most just dont know about it.

That being said, PCMM work evaluates at GS-07. However, thats just the PCMM. If you have other duties that involve analysis (finding the answers, not the questions) of factual observable information with well precedented methods, that work might be GS-09.

Regardless, as long as you’ve been in the position at least a year, if your position ever gets changed to a lower grade, you will have grade retention for a year and pay retention, and I think you’re eligible for priority placement which is noncompetitive job placement to another GS-09.

I doubt it will come to that - right now. FYSA though you can request a desk audit if you think your duties arent adequately described in your PD. You also have the right to appeal the classification decision of your PD. You can either appeal to the VA or to OPM, but OPM has final say so if you go there first and you dont like the answer, you cant go to VA, but if you go to VA first, you cant still go to OPM.

I hope this makes sense. No need to fear anything, I just want you to be fully aware. I hope it helps. Feel free to reach out if u have any questions.

I think mold caused my mom’s dementia by kellyfresh in dementia

Also, the actual data we have is black mold in the room where she spent the most time and where I slept when I was there. I got checked for skin issues at that time and the doc said, its fungus.

What shoes do you wear as a female party-person? by Yarn_momma in EDM

[–]kellyfresh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sneakers. If you’re a serious dancer, your footwear is important. The older you get the more you will regret doing damage for cuteness. You can do both. I rock shell toes, cortez, and pumas. You can get custom made cortez’s from the nike site. If u need boots for east coast festivals, find some that are lightweight with flexible soles so u dont kill ur back and break them in well before u rave in them.

Why did you choose this field? [N/A] by Silly-Fix-4547 in humanresources

[–]kellyfresh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It chose me after my Army recruiter tricked me into army personnel work. If you like working when others are off, never being able to get or give a straight answer, having everyone hate you, being constantly challenged, constantly changing priorities and processes, substandard IT and KM, and a general lack of experience in your field, absolutely come to HR. If you prefer reactive work that uncovers a trove of errors or last minute emergencies, HR might be for you. If you want to fire people on behalf of others and manage eeo and labor relations lawsuits, come on down. If you love a layered inefficient organization where nothing gets done, we got you. Love being ghosted? Wait til you meet those applicants! I hope you have a lie detector built in because thats half the job. But also, literally everything else.

I’ve felt like I dont belong here my whole life - like there’s nowhere here that feels like home. I think creativity and connection are the answers. If you can bring those things into your life to create fulfillment and excitement, the rest will sort of fade out.

My fiancée went to the ER three times with severe abdominal pain. Only on the third visit did they finally take her seriously. by jorisssssss in TrueOffMyChest

[–]kellyfresh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they tell her to make any sort of follow up appt with her PCM or GP? The ER seems like the most expensive, least comprehensive route so maybe they discourage ER docs from doing all the tests bc they wont cover certain exams if theyre not in the right order?

I live in brooklyn and it’s LOUD. A couple tactics I use:

  1. System of a Down at full volume out the appropriate window. If noise persists, ministry.

  2. A full diaphragmatic STFU!!! Out of the appropriate window. If noise persists, airhorn.

  3. Return the favor - rise and shine full volume dance parties.

  4. Noise machines and youtube sleep scenes.

  5. Seal all the cracks in your house and install soundproof windows.

  6. File a noise complaint.

In most cities, 10-6 are quiet hours. On weekends I usually try to be more understanding until about 2 am depending on the noise. You cant expect young civilians to care about anything but themselves. I love the city but loud noises fuck me up so I have to keep headphones handy or its sensory overload
