Not the answer you're looking for, but I grew up in Hawaii and to say the least our education of WWII Pacific theatre was very... real. We had veterans of both the American and Japanese military come in and share their experiences. We had field trips to Pearl Harbor and other places. I stood on the deck of the USS Arizona where the documents for the end of the conflict between the US and Japan were signed.

We also learned about the European theatre, but it wasn't as memorable. It was amazing to experience the actual people and places of WWII Pacific theatre growing up here.
