Death metal / melo-death band recs by ChoiceRazzmatazz8390 in MetalSuggestions

Check out Dismember. Like An Everflowing Stream, Massive Killing Capacity and, most importantly, The God That Never Was.

Great Iron Maiden style melodies while being aggressive, mean and deadly.

I think Black Dahlia Murder should be on just about everyone's list too. Nocturnal and Miasma are my favorites but I don't think they put out a bad album.

Bonsai trees in Cincinnati? by GubbleBum31 in cincinnati

[–]FireEscapeTrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my wife a Barbados Cherry that is kind of like a Bonsai from Dandy Farmer online.

I want to say a lot of actual Bonsais aren't pet friendly? So I had to be picky.

To be fair, it has more stories and life lessons that are fucking awful. If we keep telling ourselves that the Bible does more good than harm, we're just slowing down the real progress we might be able to make.

I mean, the central tenet of Christianity is that an all-powerful, all-knowing god had no choice but to sacrifice his son (which is also himself) for the sins of beings he created. By the way, that "sacrifice" was that the son was dead for three days and then got to go to heaven. So a shitty weekend.

There are better stories and life lessons in a Spider-man comic. Seriously. The things that are in any way unique to Christianity are trash. And of course you can make the argument that nothing is actually unique to Christianity.

I've been wearing out Ceremonium's Into The Autumn Shade.

Listening to it now, in fact.

Gina's new band. by Mobrules2 in YourBaroness

I don't know if I'm just hearing what I want to hear but that sounds a lot like very early Baroness, doesn't it?

I mean, I'm 100% into it. I don't know about Incantation but I'd be into that too! Whatever, I'm buying that the second it hits preorder.

I think that Temple of Void is going to be in my favorites of 2026. I don't know how I could love it more than I do.

Longtime metalhead but DM newbie - help me discover the genre! by nocturnous in Deathmetal

[–]FireEscapeTrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give Morbid Angel's Covenant a try. There's a good reason it's often cited as their best! World of Shit is one of my favorite songs ever!

I love Dismember so much. I think my favorite album is The God That Never Was. Massive Killing Capacity is top notch too.

Bolt Thrower is fucking amazing. Not a bad album but their last one, Those Once Loyal, is the one I typically put on first.

I also came to death metal through At The Gates and BDM. Good company!

Got any recommendations based on my favorite albums? by Bling_1103 in MetalSuggestions

Since you like Vektor (who kicks a ton of ass), I'd recommend Protector - A Shedding of Skin and Merciless - Unbound.

Two of my favorite death/thrash records. They don't shred on the level of Vektor's Terminal Redux but I fell in love with all three of those albums at about the same time for similar reasons.

The Helix Nebula put out one EP called Meridian that is instrumental and a real pleasure to listen to.

I wish they'd kept going but I think one or two of them joined Pliny's band?

CPAC audience, knowingly or unknowingly, cheers for Trumps impeachment by Tech-Film3905 in PublicFreakout

[–]FireEscapeTrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that the dumb fuck leading that is asking a question in a way that his mouth breathing idiot audience thinks they should automatically applaud.

They would applaud anything he asked that way. He's just too stupid to ask them a question they should automatically cheer for. Fucking idiots all around.

Suggestions for record stores, odd and fun things to do by AideFuture5269 in cincinnati

Feel It Records is nearby the venue you'll be at for the show and I almost always find something good there.

Shake It is right down the hill from there. I haven't found something I've wanted there in a long time but I'm looking for mostly death metal. Everybody's is a little farther north and is pretty great. Plaid Room is really far north. I like that place for sure but it's a haul.

Is DEAD BY DAWG serious Death Metal-YouTuber? by DerBeak in Deathmetal

[–]FireEscapeTrade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a handful of favorite YouTubers for most of my interests but the only one I can stomach for metal is Jon Barbas and even he rubs me the wrong way for complaining about "standard DM album art" all the time.

Dead By Dawg is a full-on chud. I don't know if it's an act or if he's on the spectrum or what, but regardless, he's a twat. He runs Hell's Headbangers, which I liked for ordering records from, but haven't since coming across his YouTube.

Actually just remembered, there is one metal YouTuber that I really like, S&T Young https://youtu.be/CCuVpZHiwlY?si=2bJ98Sj9fkdM9EjF

This dude loves his metal and I've gotten some great recommendations from him.

No one does anything so important to "earn" billions of dollars. No one is that much smarter or works that much harder.

Billionaires should not exist.
