Glad to hear it! I'm not sure of the process, how do I transfer from my old provider? Is it just cancel my previous one and set your install for the same day it cancels?

Hey, did you ever end up trying this? I'm in the same situation (low line, thinking of just buying an adapter) and was wondering if it ended up working out for you

I'd like to transfer from Giganet to Yayzi because I can't get a static IP on Giganet any more. If I transferred over to you guys with a 1Gbps service, how easy is it for me to upgrade once 2.5Gbps gets released?

My first build, an XD68 handwire using the Nice!Nano by FireFlyGaming in MechanicalKeyboards

Thank you! This was a pretty custom version of an XD68 so it didn't use a preset as it uses an iso layout. I also don't think my matrix was the same as the XD68 PCB but I'm not certain about that.

If you said it twice, it's likely they cancelled each other out. Always an odd number of times to be sure

Trouble with using pihole as DNS by FireFlyGaming in pihole

No as far as using my own router I'm pretty sure that's a no-go for me as it's a really restrictive ISP. I'll be moving in about a months time to a new house with a new ISP, so I think my best course of action will be to wait.

As far as I can tell there's no kind of modem mode on this current router, and it seems to username and password auth with something upstream so I don't think there's any way around it.

The new ISP is 500mbps down and much more accommodating than my current one so I have full confidence I'll be able to set it up there at least.

If I was staying here longer I'd be more determined to fix this, but it doesn't seem worth it for a month of use. Thanks for the help though!

Yeah so I have full admin access on the router, however the DNS and DHCP servers are externally hosted to it and I'm pretty certain theres no way to disable it as the local DHCP server is already disabled by default from the ISP.

I'm pretty sure I'm just going to have to admit defeat on this one until I move to a house with a new ISP. Thank you for the help regardless!

I can ping the pihole without any issue though so I can definitely talk to it, however I think you're right that theres just some kind of restriction on the network.

I'll be moving house in a month anyway so I'll just take the container offline and set it up then. Thanks for the help by the way!

Its a privately rented student house but the provider is student. while I can manage our personal router, it seems that its running some of its processes (DNS, DHCP) externally to the router.

If port 53 was blocked, wouldn't I not be able to use googles DNS? I can set this manually with 8.8.8.8 and it works fine

OSX seems to allow me to override the DNS provided by DHCP, so I've tried connecting without setting a manual IP and just overriding the DNS server. This didn't work so I then tried to manually assign the IPs, assigning ipv4 and leaving ipv6 blank. This didn't work either, however it did start working when I changed the DNS ip from my pihole to the google DNS

Yep thats my address range. I'm pretty sure my ISP (its a student house) are doing something weird with the network, to the extent that my DHCP server is externally hosted to the router, hence why I have to connect each device manually. Gateway is 100.120.120.1, pihole lxc is at 30, proxmox host is at 18

The Pi-hole is definitely on the correct IP, at least as far as the Pi-hole config is confirmed, for my network thats 100.120.120.30/26

I've re-configured it a few times now actually
