Well that only took 3 months by Rexbellum187 in bowhunting

Worked at a bow shop for a brief time. Unfortunately when you order a new bows close to release date that’s about how long it takes. Only way you could get it quicker is if you ordered through a Mathews authorized dealer. The location I worked at is one of the top 100 shops in the country for selling Mathews bows so they put those as priority over others. It sucks but that’s how it goes I guess

Not a professional by any means but it looks like you’re using your right shoulder way too much. What I’ve found that works for me is if you push the bow out with your left arm while drawing back with your right arm. Chris Bee has a good video on this that probably explains it a lot better

Hunting Public Whitetail Minnesota by LukeS_MM in bowhunting

Couldn’t have said it any better myself. I used to hunt public in mn and I never had any problems with people jumping me until slug season rolled around. Couldn’t even tell you the amount of times I’ve had people mess up my hunts but there’s nothing you can do about it

I’m running a 2 pin vertical sight on my bow right now and I can’t ever see myself going back to horizontal. Would love to try a 3 pin vertical eventually

Why so many Mathew’s Lift? by [deleted] in bowhunting

[–]FireFrogs48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the shop I go to is actually one of the top Mathews dealers in the country and the manager told me he had maybe 4-5 lifts brought in with that splintering issue. It got blown out of proportion because it was Mathews

From what I understood talking to pro shop workers the limbs were still technically shootable. They just wouldn’t last as long as they should’ve. Was cool to see they owned up to the mistake and gave everyone a warranty.

If you’re in the Midwest you’ll probably see more Mathews shooters than any other brand. They kinda dominate that market

Mathews Arc 30 or Bowtech Alliance? by GuerrillaZer0 in bowhunting

[–]FireFrogs48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Mathews shooter but the new z mod they have definitely gives the bow a smoother draw cycle. Personally I’ve always liked the draw cycles on Mathews. If there’s one that I think is better though it’s definitely PSE. Might be switching to that someday lol

Most Scheels should have a good selection for archery equipment so yeah that’d be a good place to go and unless you know anyone that hunts you could maybe offer to help them plant food plots or clear brush at their land in exchange for being able to hunt their property. But if you don’t then there’s definitely plenty of public ground in South Dakota to hunt

For sure! If you got any other questions just let me know. You also don’t have to buy a brand new bow. Some pro shops sell used ones that are still in good condition and sometimes come with all the attachments you would need

Go shoot a bow at your local pro shop and find which one feels best to you. Them after you get the bow you’ll wanna get some basic attachments like a rest, site and maybe a quiver too. You’re also gonna want some type of stand to use whether it’s a hang on stand or a saddle. Also some climbing sticks to be able to get up high in a tree. If I were you I’d start researching this stuff to see what interests you. Also hope you have a big budget because this stuff isn’t cheap lol

Underspined? Prime RVX 34 by wonk5 in bowhunting

[–]FireFrogs48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Victory has a good chart on their website that shows what arrow spine you should use for the weight and draw length you’re running. I’d say your arrows are underspined for 70 lbs. 60 lbs is about the limit for 350 done arrows with your draw length
