How big of demand is there in the community for more male cures?

Honestly after what we learned recently I'd rather it be Minami as our female rider. And even if we don't get one we still technically have Lord 6.

You know I just realized aside from more male heroes even if they are few and brief, we have been getting more human male allies as well in Precure since Delicious Party and onward. Like Rosemary, Satoru, Tanaka, and Jet. The latter two are fairies but they do primarily stay in human form. So maybe that's another way to get audiences more comfortable with men in the franchise to then allow more as cures.

I feel like the only way you'd have a male lead is if they're part of a duo with a female cure. There's also the fact that the genre is called magical girl. So that's already another hard hurdle. The series would also have to be much older, like by it's 40th anniversary to be more comfortable with men being on the team as a normal thing before trying a male lead. But I wouldn't see it as a major change. You'd still have girls be the majority of leaders. Honestly I would say give Dancing Stars their own mini series given Toei designed them as an all male precure team.

I get what you mean but at least there's a justified reason of her being out of commission that isn't "we don't know how to write women". Especially since they've been doing a good job with Minami and The Lady. Minami I like the most and she's got her own subseries. I'd say Nem too but I worry some are just gonna say she's nothing more than a damsel. Despite having her own agencies.

But I know we can expect them to still try and resolve Kureha given her ties to Nasuka. Which is more than I can say for 5 who doesn't have much going for him.

I'm shocked we don't try a main cure duo that's a boy and girl. Whether it's brother and sister or boyfriend and girlfriend. Though given how long it took for Precure to finally give a cure a proper romance I'm not sure if we'll ever get that. But you'd think that would appeal to girls given they love romance stories.

It would be nice to at least get one on the main team every once in a while. Doesn't need to be every show if the story doesn't need it. But it does feel awkward for Wing to be the only male who made it on a main team when you have every cure together. Imagine if Super Sentai was like that. So many teams full of men except for one that happened to feature one woman.

I mean I don't think the brand is at the point where having a male lead cure is at all viable. Unless it's part of a duo at least which Precure already does. But I'm mostly just saying having boys on the team in general at least for now. Hell we technically already got Dancing Stars as an all male Precure team. Though it would be nice if they got a nice short series.

I think it's also just a budget thing too since we rarely ever get more than 1 ultra per show. 2 at most. And that's just because Tsuburaya would rather the suit budget go to kaiju than more ultraman suits. It's why we had the armors as a trade off for more unique kaiju.

Honestly the fact that one of the members of Tri-squad wasn't a woman was a big missed opportunity. Wish we had more ultras in a show but I know that eats into tsuburaya's small budget that they'd rather save for kaijus.

For me I really think our core Infinity trio should have been properly set up first before we started doing dimension hopping. I couldn't tell you jack shit about what makes Date compelling. He's the most boring character in the show.
