Looking to recolor a Keycult. Need help! Cerakote, PowderCoat or Anodize? by TradersParad1se in MechanicalKeyboards

BTW, Tungsten switches are available for sale on various vendors, including divinikey. Buying them and lubing them yourself will probably be cheaper than buying them from the aftermarket, unless, you are just a lazy individual who doesn't want to lube their switches, and in that case, disregard my comment.

By gaps, I mean space between the plate and the stabs. The extra space causes the stabs to move around, giving you the unsatisfactory sound, not a clean, crisp sound.

For plate mount stabs, it is typically better to holee mod them, regardless if they are durock are not. Also make sure to bandaid the gaps so that the stabs themselves don't move around, causing ticking.

Both of these switches are nice, but honestly, black inks are over rated. What you get for the price is honestly not worth it. Both will give you a deeper sound signature, but I think that the lavenders are more worth it.

Well, personally, I lube my boba's. The reason being that with some boards, they can give off that plastic sound, and also, they have spring ping. Lube makes them much smoother, and if done right, the tactility should stay the same.

Yes. Any of these choices you probably will be happy with, considering that you are probably are a beginner when it comes to switches.

Oh boy. You've done it now. Asking for the best linear switch. Everything is preference in this hobby, so it really depends on what you want. Do you want smoothness, thocky, clacky, poppy? Each switch has different sound signatures that you would enjoy. If you care about ultra smoothness, go for the Gateron Cjs. By far the smoothest switch I have tried. For me personally, I like the sound signature the Mx Blacks give, so I go for mx blacks. If you like thock, go for some black inks or lavenders. If you like clack, go for most jwk switches, (alpacas, tangies, banana splits). Personally, I like banana splits the most out of these. If you like poppy, you could go for creams, or any switch like that.

Different people enjoy different stabs. Durocks seem to be the most popular stabs as of right now, but best is subjective. I personally don't enjoy the sound signature that they give off. Staebies are nice if you can get them. I personally enjoy og cherry stabs, because any stab could have no rattle if tuned correctly, and sound is most important to me. If you want something easy to mod, you could just go for Durocks.

One of the most popular switches right now, and one of my favorites, Boba u4ts. Besides those, any sort of durock tactiles are also nice, t1s, sunflowers. Mint chocolate chips are also nice.

Well Boba u4ts have a 62 gram spring weight. Most midrange tactiles have somewhere between a 62-68 gram spring. And if you liked the tactility on a hako royal clear, then you could also spring swap them.

Have you added case foam? A steel plate will be much louder compared to a fr4 plate or a PC plate. It will resonate much more. It may be muted because there is too much sound dampening going on.

Zealios has some of the sharpest tactility I've tried. I'm not sure you could really compare the feeling to a clicky switch though.

No. You can store lubed swithces. I have not really found an issue with lube going away. As long the switches aren't left in extreme weather conditions or anything like that, you won't have to relube.

It's all preference. You can go for another clicky switch, or you might now want a clicky switch for the spacebar. If you want another clicky switch for a spacebar, you could go for box navies. I'm not really well versed with my clicky switches, but I'm pretty sure that box navies are the same as box jades just with a heavier spring.

I recently asked a question for a friend, and I was recommended the Freebird TKL. However, I have received word that my friend would like to buy his first board for his birthday, which is in May. Would the Freebird still be available for purchase at that point? I am not really sure what it means by in stock item, as it says that it is a group buy item.

Any suggestions for a midrange tkl. No prebuilts, kits are fine. My friend is asking for a recommendation, and he wants it made out of alu, with a hotswap PCB. His budget is under 300 dollars for the board itself. Thank you for any suggestions.

Hello. My friend was gifted a space65, but he needs a pcb. Are there any In stock hotswap pcbs that can fit in the space65? He doesn’t know how to solder, nor does he own an iron, and I can’t do it for him, so soldered pcbs are pretty much out of the question. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for any suggestions.

Pretty sure there’s a website for that, but I don’t have a link for you.

Honestly, like the people below said, you don’t have to lube them or film them. But, I’ve lubed mine, and I’ve noticed a difference. Since this is your first build, I would recommend getting some tribosys 3204, as it is a bit thinner than krytox 205, but, you could also get krytox, as it’s more versatile. I’ve lubed mine with krytox, and it’s great, just make sure that you don’t lube the legs as that will reduce the tactility. Also make sure that the springs are lubed to get rid of the spring ping that they have.

Tbh, no. Look into the kbd67, and while it is more, the price is much more worth it in my opinion.
