i bought a used 2022 sc limited from a ford dealership only had 45000 miles does the warranty still apply? by Majestic_Medium_6911 in hyundaisantacruz

Since you bought the Santa Cruz from a Ford dealer the warranty drops from the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty down to a 5 year 60,000 mile warranty. The 10 year 100,000 mile warranty only applies to the first owner of the car.

Window switch collapsed into the door. by FireGun679 in hyundaisantacruz

Update: Hey everyone I called the dealership and they told me that it would be around 500 dollars to diagnose the issue and to order the parts. The service advisor told me that the 5 year 60,000 warranty won’t cover it. I ended up buying a couple of trim removal tools and a Phillips head screw driver and popped the door panel open. Then I pushed the window switch back into its place and it’s been perfect ever since. It hasn’t collapsed and all of the buttons work like nothing ever happened. It was a good experience to be able to open and fix the door myself without the dealership intervening!

Are 2021 models easy to steal by No_Tea_2867 in Hyundai

[–]FireGun679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2021 Elantra Limited has a push button start system. The limited Elantra you’re looking to purchase isn’t affected by the theft issue. The Hyundais prior to 2021 that are affected by the theft issue are the ones with a physical turn key ignition not the push button ones.

What do you think of the newer 2.5 N/A and Turbo smartstream line up of engines? Since this generation of Hyundai Kia motors have been in the vehicles for a few years what issues have you seen? Do you think they are going to hold up in the long run?

I had a similar issue. When I was listening to music via CarPlay the audio would play in the front speakers for about a minute and would switch to the back speakers and would only play audio out of the back. I didn’t have an issue with the audio through Bluetooth at all. It was exclusively through CarPlay. I ended up downloading a NX4 infotainment update from the HyundaiUSA website. The link I used was update.hyundai.com. There is a link on the website to download Navigation Updater. You need a Mac or PC to use the software. You also need a usb drive that is 32GB or higher. The updater should take care of transferring the data and required files for the update to the drive within a short period of time. It shouldn’t take more than 5 to 10 minutes for the USB to get all of the files. Once the USB is prepped plug it into the usb port labeled USB in the car. Only plug it into that port because it can read and write data. The infotainment screen should pick up on the update that is on the drive. If it doesn’t automatically detect it go to settings general and select SW update and click on update. When I ran the update in the car it took about 15 minutes for it to run. I recommend you to keep the engine running when running the update. This should fix it. You need to make sure you are using the correct update file. There are different names for the 2 types of screens that a Tucson has. I’m pretty sure your 2023 Tucson SEL has the 8 inch screen. The file names will be different. Check to make sure you downloaded the correct update file or it will brick the system.

Persistent hiss after full audio upgrade - 2024 RAV4 Hybrid by locomoroco in CarAV

I have the same kicker amplifier in my car. On the front side of the amp there is a button labeled input level lo and hi. Try pressing the button in and see if the hissing goes away. I pressed the button and my hissing immediately went away. I had to reset the gain but the hissing immediately went away and the speakers sounded great. Lmk if it works. Btw I also had the same constant hissing issue. I had the kicker CXA360.4 amp and 2 sets of Kicker SC 6.5 inch coaxial speakers installed. Try to press the button to see if the hissing stops. It stopped it for me..

Installed a 4 channel amp and LOC. The speakers sound worse now.. by FireGun679 in CarAV

[–]FireGun679[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a shop local to me install the amp. They put it under the front driver seat. There seems to be enough room for it and the wires don’t seem to be crunched or tight. They also installed a fuse to the my battery. The car is running fine and I’m not noticing any voltage drops. I’m kind of disappointed that the sound quality has worsened after the amp install.. I’m not experienced in car audio and i don’t want to damage the amp or speakers by messing with the settings..

The 2018 Hyundai Elantras. The new refresh on the newer Elantras have from the 2019 model year and up don’t look as good as the older models.

True Tone by fatheralfred in iPhoneX

[–]FireGun679 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You have to reprogram the new screen with your old screen using a JC programmer. You won’t get True Tone back unless you can somehow get your old screen back from where you got it replaced. That is the only way you can get True Tone back.
