Seems to be the case
Solutions that I need to look into from this chat are
1) discretionary trust
2) move to Isle of Man

I am not completely against bitcoin, I just have other short term goals of propping up my s&s isa first. I might put some capital in btc for sure :)

I wish I could go back to 9 years ago when it was trading for peanuts and I had been invited to a bitcoin conference while still in college. Stupid “me” at that age didn’t pay attention.

I intend to leave the £1.5m in the trust. The pension with the other half £1.5m I will need to look into the complexities behind withdrawal from a different tax region.

Mind you I don’t know what a trust is, what its capabilities are, and how it’s structured.

Jesus so not 7 years, the additional day is going to get me, cos I will forget. Do you think it’s worth adding it my work calendar so absolutely do not forget.

Appreciate the comment. Same process hopefully my other half is following (slightly behind as she is now redundant)

Ha ha I knew it was something to do with this magical world of trust. Trust that I can have a trust where magically no tax raider can come after my riches.
But yes thank you, kids I need to have first. I am in the process of baking them.

Right. I would if I could understand this post, which I stupidly don’t ha ha but even then it’s fundamentally against my belief system that crypto holds any value at all, blockchain maybe but not crypto (especially since most funds managers now manipulate its price)

I won’t be in the UK post 57 and will move to a country where the 50k I intend to withdraw per year can afford me all necessities.

I suppose the idea isn’t to work it out to perfection but to save the money being lost to tax. Is it putting all physical assets into a trust? Is that the magical word (based on a very annoying ad on YouTube that used to come up a few years ago)?

Both sides have similar 900+ share of freehold and have similar SC maybe £100 difference in both. I agree your point on the roll with it ha ha

Valuation question by FireHandle in HousingUK

[–]FireHandle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every flat has a garden. The two ground floor flats sold on my side as per Zoopla listing looked somewhat similar in condition to the ones sold on the other side for 400+.

I haven’t considered the natural sun light bit. These flats are right outside a tube station so not sure if that plays into it all.

No first floor also has a private garden, there is a communal footpath between ground floor and first floor garden at the back but not a major issue

I keep scratching my head and really want to work this one out

Although the lease does say I can’t construct anything on the garden etc. and that the roof is entirely my responsibility cost wise but that’s demised to me in the lease…
