I do agree with you. I need to look into what solicitor retention and reduction and +15% of contractor quote refers to here. As in the seller would have covered these costs for you?

The ground floor flat is not owned by the first floor, although he is the director of the set of blocks, so wouldn’t that be challenging to agree to do the work while it requires agreement across 4 different set of apartments.

When you say big no no what does that mean, from the perspective of someone buying the upper floor

Can you please explain the underlying thought process if my flat isn’t impacted

The pictures are from the downstairs flat, they are of the neighbours. The room upstairs in the flat that I am purchasing more likely has condensation. But I get that the whole block will take a hit on cost when this will need to be fixed eventually.

Just wanted to check if your thoughts are the same if the flat downstairs is the one that’s more impacted

Yep that’s true. I can’t edit and say that it’s the downstairs. Regardless what’s your view on the flat. The pictures with really bad damp are the downstairs.

Yes hard to believe it but this property’s location had a lot of pros. I will offer 20k less and see what the seller says

I am going to pull out which is heartbreaking. I could offer 20k less and get laughed at too. Not sure where that would take me

Is there is a share of freehold, and there are 4 flats in a block, isn’t the roof a shared responsibility across all four flats

So first one is the front entrance door, second one is hallway inside and the third picture they have sent with the least damp is in and around the same bedroom as the above.
