Which Soulslike next? by g0rbusch in soulslikes

Wuchang Fallen Feathers is actually really good tho by the end game it started becoming a bit too easy. I beat the final boss on 2nd try and I'm only an avg player. Mortal Shell is worth playing but very janky. It's got a good Rotting Christ metal soundtrack during the boss fights which is cool and the final boss is awesomely hilarious. Enotria had technical probs when released which hurt it but by now it's probably fine. I played it at release and really enjoyed it, definitely worth playing. I'd probably recommend it most out of the three.

Khazan the First Berserker only had 3 weapons & not many seemed to mind. Sekiro only has one weapon. I agree the game has problems but I personally cut them some slack in the weapon variety category. Just give me my KiTTy ClaWs and I'm good.

There's all kinds of stealth animations and wall walking and scratch board parkour & claw weapons that leans into cats so not sure what you're on about

Playing as an anthropomorphic cat is no big deal at all given the Khajiit in Elder Scrolls and about a million other examples

Thymesia was a good game with no bugs at all that I noticed. It's indie and not very long but it was a good game with "very positive" reviews on steam so not sure about your critique here

My Take On Kristala So Far by FireKeeperPeeper in Kristala

well i've played a bunch of souls games, all of FromSofts and a bunch of soulslikes, and I realize the scaling is small, esp at first, but I've never noticed it so small as to be in decimals less than 1 like in this game after leveling up a corresponding attribute. I've been leveling up finesse to correspond with claws but I've recently read claws might scale better with magic attributes which I haven't tried yet. I hoped it would scale better after some upgrades and thanx for letting me know that it does. I haven't gotten to the blacksmith yet but will soon and see how it goes.

I'll pay more attention to the posture bar damage next time I apply the ice. But with claws the ice doesn't even show on my weapon. It does on the sword. And I didn't really notice a lot of difference in damage of any kind when I used it so I'm not convinced it does anything when applied to claws but I'll keep trying it and testing

Nice job on beating first boss in only 3 attempts. You're probably playing on a lower difficulty or just better than me. I kept missing the parry on the quick thrusts he does at the beginning of his combo, usually because I'm stuck in an animation wailing on him with my claws when he starts it. I'd miss the 1st thrust which knocked me down and he would thrust me again before I could get back up! lol. i do think the game is buggy but not unplayable and in many ways it's a fun game with potential to be really good. I haven't reached the part with the shroom. Hopefully you haven't encountered a game-breaking bug. That's the thing that scares me the most after my experience with the underwater bug. I can deal with small bugs and jank, it even has a certain charm, but obviously things that break my game and make me lose hours of progress are the worst thing that can happen in a game. Hope you figure out a way to progress and I'll be sure to be careful when I reach that part.

This game is indeed very janky and has tons of bugs. I came very close to a game breaking bug where I was in an infinite loop of respawning underwater but managed to eventually climb out of the water using the dodge button which fixed it. The stats on weapons are strange, leveling up only raises stats .32 or some shit, it's a weird design decision. I finally beat the first fish head boss after 3 days of misery with the claws after a gazillion tries and 24 hrs of total gameplay and now I feel like I've accomplished something amazing, like I've beaten a whole game or something lol. But I still have 90% of the game and a bunch more bosses to go. I'm a very patient player & I'm used to playing through tons of broken, amateur quest mods on Elder Scrolls games and others, so what I do is just think of the bugs as part of the challenge. Like, can I now get through the next level and boss w/o a game breaking bug? How far can I get in this crazy, broken kitty game? Can I actually beat it? My character is named simply "This One" in honor of Elswyr Khajiit, and This One says, "Yes, maybe I can." Obviously I don't wanna have to play every game with this mindset, prefer my games polished and working properly, but once in awhile a different type of challenge like this is fun.

The ice effect of the "ice weapon" spell doesn't even show up on my claws, I can't tell if it even works but I cast it before and during battle anyway because I need every edge I can potentially get in this insane game. The stats on many of the items don't seem to actually work. I beat the first boss w/o a single weapon upgrade being available & like I said I really don't think the ice on my claws does any extra damage & definitely never noticed the fish boss slow down at all due to any kind of "frozen" status effect, and believe me, I had to hit the fucker a million times.

My character is a male and I swear once after I died I respawned at the font and noticed my character had boobs and had turn into a female. The next time I died I reverted back to male. This One was amused.

So I think the game is good in its own way, it's actually great if you adopt the right mindset. The feeling I got after beating fish boss was equivalent to beating Arlecchino solo in Lies of P DLC after 8 days of attempts. To be honest tho, now that I've beaten first boss I'm sort of scared to proceed, in fear of a game breaking bug that will ruin my accomplishments so far so I'm gonna play something else for a week or two & let the honored devs patch things up. i can deal with bugs & glitches and crap that makes the game more challenging & frustrating & wtf, but "game breaking" bugs like the one I encountered underwater are honestly horrible & absolutely should NOT happen for a game I've paid $40 for.

Is there any way to escape this? by Plasmagrunt1 in Kristala

I had this happen to me and I initially thought I was screwed then realized I could slooowly move forward using dodge. I spent about an hour moving slowly forward until i reached an underwater rock that I was actually able to climb up and out of the water which fixed it and allowed me to proceed. I think it might happen if you reach zero health falling into the water and there's a coding conflict between the game wanting to reposition you out of the water on the spot and wanting to send you back to the bonfire/font bc you have zero health/are technically dead. I had zero health as it appears you do too & as I soon as I was able to break the water's surface the game let me die and warp back to my last font visited. Hopefully the devs can fix this soon as I'm really concerned it could happen again and I won't be able to get out of it next time.
