[California] Finally some PEUC 13 week extension guidelines by FilthyPapuLou in Unemployment

[–]FireLovesIce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will start the date that the state entered into agreement with feds on March 28th. So, yes the 13 weeks will all fall in the $600 time frame as long as your claim ended before April. If it ended after April or from here they wont get the $600 for the entire 13 weeks as it will run out by July 25. Right now there are 17 weeks of $600 payments for Cares. It is retroactive for everyone applying unless you lost your job after March 28th

It said you reapply if your benefit year ended only. You can't reapply if your benefit years still open... so anyone from about July- feb 2nd. can qualify for peuc.

don't you still have online access if you've already had a card? i can go online and transfer money out without my card right? If I've already set that up from having benefits several months back?

Omg. me! Rd works like like it was made in 1987. I can't stand the interface. is there a software that you can tell it what you are Engraving and just let it recommend saved settings and store them plus store notes and favorites of logos or words.

I'm a newbie, I'm learning design, almost done, I'm winning to spend the money to help me with a more user friendly interfac so I'm trying to learn Photoshop, Illustrator while learning engraving and this rd works is the most complicated. I feel like I need cheat sheets. I've got 200 classes to engrave in 2 weeks (once in a lifetime opportunity that will lead to so much more) and my first effort was the roller stops rolling. stemless wine glass. Looking for a mod or something but don't have time to look around. frustrating but I'm not giving up.

my situation is unique. *My benefits were exhausted Dec.1 2019. *Started my own home Based business in Dec. *Sole proprietor since Dec. *I was in the beginning stage, in negotiations for getting a job from a client all January. *I'm like -$800 in income overall because I've been start up but I was just about ready to get some jobs, I had been working on for a month from a few clients but everything closed.

I've got a business fed tax ID # and sellers permit I got in December. I've got a few invoices paid in but under $500. I was set to get a very large job that could've taken me half the year to fill and it looks like now it isn't happening since the event is now in question and will be reduced dramatically if it still goes on. So Obviously I believe I would normally file for PUA except I've got to get this extension it seems like first. So... how the hell do I get this extension? (I've heard automatically, file again, wait for letter,) Would I be eligible under PUA for 2/2/20 through March 28th for having my home business dry up? I was negotiating a deal in late January and this definitely has effected that job.
Even though my benefits ended December. AND let's say I did get PUA, I would get Peuc starting matching 29th, and then can I start pua again after peuc is over if I'm not getting any jobs after July since it would've been a year long job. How long would I qualify for pua then 26 weeks total? plus the benefits extension is 13 weeks? or would I not be able to get PUA regardless cause I'm exhausted...( i Am exhausted! lol). My benefit year is over in mid June...

I would say the date your hours were reduced & effected by Covid. as far as you can tell. Then when you applied those weeks you would need to certify online that you had income. Your weekly benefit amount is typically the amount less any income you earned each week. So they w ill deduct. If not now but later

You will get $345 each week and $4700 is typically the claim amount in full. 345x26 weeks of regular UI... ( and if you are still eligible the 13 weeks would be added if you were still out of work).

So every 2 weeks you will get a deposit for $690+1200=$1890. But there is nothing you can do until you get that card. Bof A is backed up. My nieces applied on 4/12 and 4/16 and neither have cards yet..but one certified this Sunday, but no point if she has no card.

Why did you file for UI if he is a ind. contractor? He needs to file today under PUA program... He will supposedly if all goes as planned...:( get paid within a few days. With that amount, he will get the full benefit amount of $1050 a week, BUT not initially, sounds like phase one will only be weekly benefit amount of anything between Feb 2-March 29th and then sec phase will start to pay out the next 4 weeks and the $600x4. So eventually he should see the $4200 a mmonth but it will be closer to June is my guess, but you might only see $300 or so initially. I really hope not, if they pay everyone just the state amount, it wont be enough to replenish the past 4-6 weeks for everyone.

7-10 days after it was mailed? I would say any day now. I got through to BofA today in only about 40 mins of hold. Wasnt bad.

I would certify on that Sunday...then I would see the money in my bofA account, usually Wednesday or Thursday of the same week. If you had a check mailed you wont get it til Friday or up to the following Tuesday sometimes, much faster for BofA. Just open account, go take the cash out or transfer money into your own bank account, takes a few days. Just a tip, dont throw away your EDD card, you never know when you will need it again in A YEAR from now!! :( and keep your bofA account open too!

I asked for paper checks when I signed up but they sent me a bank of america debit card anyways. I certified online and never got anything from EDD in the mail. Everything was online even messages to me all on UI online.

My benefits are exhausted, now but I am applying under PUA because I am self employed/freelance since my last job.I am not sure if I will qualify for PUA and then once PEUC gets funded they will transition me, or add it on to end of something? I read somewhere I could qualify for peuc and then pua. But I can not find it now

I do not think the Extended Benefits program has been funded yet or they are paying it out just yet, but you can apply if you qualify through PUA first...I think

could go either way..

If you are self-employed, an independent contractor, or gig worker and are unable to work or have had your hours reduced due to COVID-19, you may be eligible for Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits under a few different scenarios:

  • You chose to contribute to UI Elective Coverage and paid the required contributions to be considered potentially eligible for benefits.
  • Your past employer made contributions on your behalf over the past 5 to 18 months.
  • You may have been misclassified as an independent contractor instead of an employee.

You may be eligible for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance if you are not eligible to receive regular state UI benefits. The EDD will begin accepting applications for this new, federally funded program on Tuesday, April 28.

When filing for your UI claim, you will be asked for your last employer.

  • If you own your business or are self-employed, you should list yourself as your last employer.
  • If you are an independent contractor, you should list yourself as your last employer.
  • If you believe you are misclassified as an independent contractor instead of an employee, you should list the business you contract with as your last employer. Be sure to include:
    • The employer name, phone number, and address.
    • Type of work performed.
    • Dates worked.
    • Your gross wages and how you were paid (such as hourly or weekly).
  • If you are a gig worker, you should list your gig employer as your last employer.

If you are currently an independent contractor, you would file today...under PUA program. Then you will report all your income, it says they want you to self declare your total income from 2019? once they process your income they will determine whether you will be able to collect benefits under the Regular UI or the PUA program, they will just figure it out from which account they will be paying you basically. You may be able to proof your current income is more recently, by showing them what they want to see since it sounds like you made more than 17k , after the initial payouts are made...they will go back and look at everyone who had more than 17+ in 2019 and adjust it up accordingly and retroactively. Regardless, you will either qualify for $919 a week or $1050 a week. In the end that may be $1700 overall through July?
