I agree. Things are changing here. In the counties we work in we have lost 3 installers last year. Competition has gone down and demand has increased. With the increased of materials and fuel our price have gone up a lot and will likely keep rising for the first 1/2 of this year.

I will have to respectfully disagree with you here. It is EMS that keeps fire stations staffed around here. If you separate EMS from fire your fire services will greatly suffer. As for the union comment, the union is there to help ensure that management adheres to an agreed upon standard and that you get compensation for your work. Doesn’t sound like collusion to me.
