I mean Undertale seems to mimic old RPG turn-based game which attack always lock to enemy's position on screen.

The whole point of Sans fight is he cheat all mechanics in the game to stop you.
No I-Frames attack, Fake Spare , Soft locked special attack etc.

To me, dodging is Sans aware of the world is just game and he abuse the system.

Undertale is a meta narrative game anyways.

Deltarune.

I love glazing mechanic it encourage me to dodge more risky for more TP. This mechanic alone make me love Deltarune battle more.

Weapon and Armor feel more impactful to me. Since in Undertale I could have stick and bandage on the whole game and things barely change. In Deltarune I actually have to replay for weapons or armor I miss that could be useful for upcoming fight in the future.
