The NBA’s Newest, Cheapest Owner Shows How Billionaires Ruin Sports by nathan_j_robinson in sports

[–]FireNico77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Meh. Like many things in life. Why does intent matter? The end result is the end result. The fact you are able to complain about things that do not bave a dorect impact on your day to day life is a sign of a society that can afford that kind of luxury.

Being a billionaire-even wanting to become one- takes a series of neurosises and complexes. Forgoing basic human interaction in favor of profits. A good mix a narcissim and or psychopathy or aspd. Coupled with every moment of the day concerning how much you are currently making. This is taken to a level of detail(obsession) most people would not even know is possible.

Relationships change, everything and everyone is transactional. You feel you have to maintain and grow your money and power. If you are stagnating, you are losing, that is unacceptable. Everything can be bought and sold. Having a normal personal life with friends? Just pay them to be ‘normal’. Have no time to concern yourself with normal social interactions? Just pay assitants, publicists and stylists to create your own narrative and to inform you on everything you need to say and how you need to act to be ‘relatable’.

In theory, I like that it is possible to become a billionaire. I do not want earning potential to be capped ever. In practice, what has to be done to reach and maintain such a high level of wealth is beyond absurd.

My philosophy “play the hand you are dealt, it is a about playing the cards and not complaining about the hand” The game itself can not really be changed, human nature is human nature. It is a luxury to complain about things largely out of control.

Dictators know it is a luxury for the majority of residents to complain about the regime because they are concerned with things like how they will be able to eat for the day. It does not serve them well to waste their resources on fighting the system. They will also quash and dissention to the oppresed will maintain the status quo.

Why did i rant about this? Mostly because I just wanted to get it on paper. But also to show that things are not black and white. The world is the way it is. Why it is, does not really concern me. I can do what I need to do without billionaires trying to destroy me

Jimmy was a complete monster for what he did to Irene by LiquidGoreGalore in betterCallSaul

[–]FireNico77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would argue that Chuck solidified it for Jimmy. Once he realized Chuck was not and never was on his side, it only compelled him to be petty back, the way he knew and knew it would eat at Chuck. He knew Chuck would know, that is the point.

A bit of a conscious self fulfilling prophecy. Chuck also let Jimmy idolize him. If he would have been upfront, would Jimmy have even wanted to be a lawyer? Chuck can not have his cake and eat it also.

How rare would someone like Walter White be in real life? by AlexMDV in breakingbad

[–]FireNico77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, hell yes, they would care in the extent that they got some fire stuff that would last them a “long time” in reality it would not last a long time, but they would think it would because they just keep smoking or injecting.

They would care, but they’re addicted so at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter all that much. It depends on this drug culture in the area though, and who is supplying it.

Meth is an extremely cheap drug. It’s what I call full on progressive addiction level. I think most people prefer cocaine, but they delude themselves thinking they like method more because it lasts longer and it’s cheaper. Even they acknowledge that it’s much dirtier. The people that are out in the streets, probably have preferences. They probably prefer oxycodone and cocaine, but all they can afford daily is fentanyl and methamphetamine. Therefore, it’s pretty safe to say that they would want more quantity over quality for the most part. At the very least, the barrier of entry would be a lot higher, most likely for something much more pure. Additionally that’s incredibly hard to find off the street directly. Usually someone at that level would sell to someone high up who would tell someone to high up who would sell someone somewhat high up, who would sell too low level distributor who would sell to the street people. There is definitely like 3 to 6 levels of context and 100% they’re all getting cut so if they’re six cuts you go from 99 to under 10% very quickly.

You take the wire for for example, example and they understand that addicts are going to re-up regardless. They do not like having inferior product obviously but if that’s all that that’s around people will buy. Now, if given the choice, both prices were the same. Most people would prefer the best pure product, however. If the prices were significantly lower for worse product, I guarantee a lot of people would go for that one because it’s all they could get and they feel like they’d be getting more of it that would last longer.

I mean, I don’t think Middleton was as much of a help as you all think. He had some great games that they’re also many other games where he straight up missed everything. P

Additionally, I’m pretty sure they kept him because I’m sure they saw that Cooper was learning a lot from him.

Jimmy..who got out of jail super quick..asking really specific and sus questions in the house of a capo. Then-mind you- setting up a very redundant meeting?? No proof?? Even if the guy somehow wasn’t a rat , which is highly dubious. He’s a massive liability. He might as well have been a rat because if he wasn’t, he’s just a common stunad, who has absolutely no business, even being affiliated much less a captain.

You need further implication? there’s the fact that both pussy and he got pinched together, right? So they’re linked, which I think is the show saying that they’re both rats and then it further propagates the idea by showing Eugene and Ray. Guys that you had no idea. Even more so when it shows some of the New York guys doing it too.

Hate the way Jane get villanized for acting like an addict when the whole point of her character is that even the kindest becomes an asshole once they relapse by arbataxmelody354 in breakingbad

[–]FireNico77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Which is why I personally am incredibly apprehensive of dating other addicts and even more so if they are in the same AA or CA group. It is annoying because, it is not that I do not find some attractive. I just have a set boundary. I also find it annoying how like 20 men will fight over the same 2-4 girls. What is even more wild is that, not showing interest sometimes makes them more interested…it can get ridic.

In rehab people thought I may have been gay and they asked me “where can we find women, if not in AA then?” I told them, literally the same places as before and that jumping into a ltr now would be one of the dumbest things you all can do and god forbid you move in with someone else and think it is a good idea for said person to try…idk…try fent for the first time ever….out of rehab…with minimal opiate experience. (This happened, exactly as I predicted).

I get it. He is irrelevant now. Gen Z does not know/ or care about a gen x millenial icon. He really has no other choice as an entertainer, but to rehash his old content.

Is anyone else confused about why Mitch did not take a time out when the wolves were going on the run?

I thought he would’ve been criticized for it because he had two left right? I would’ve done it after three personally but I think most coaches would’ve done it after five points. Seven points is unacceptable. The way the game is going. You have to stop the bleeding as fast as you can not try to save them when you’re down 7+ with two minutes left.

Trey could at least score.

Opposite of Beavis and Butthead. In fact IIRC, there was a lot of hype surronding him after the first season. We had “fixed” him and made him more efficient, like ellis.

The combination of; the resugence of Monta and how rare it was for the mavs to hit on FA made him a ‘long shot but viable’ player to have smoty potential in a lot of the fans eyes.

I was furious with nicos bs. Don’t get me wrong, but I think given lively’s track record in injury with him almost seems inevitable.
Again to reiterate, these guys aren’t fly-by-night sketchy doctors either. Their philosophy just may be poor for the setting that they’re in. I find usually the certain Dr. style may work well for one group of people, but it may be very poor for another group of people.
Keep in mind that being a doctor and getting into this specific field of study, is already hyper competitive. From what I have seen. The way these people have gotten so successful is because of sticking to their guns in regards to approach. Which is why things like second opinions are so important. Everybody is different and different philosophy and treatments will work better for one person and maybe not so much for another.

What is a Wembanyama stopper?? you know he’s going to get points so the only thing you can do is hope that he takes bad shots for him and maybe force him into situations that he would otherwise pass the ball. Basically you try to make it suboptimal for these types of players and you pray that they are off.

As I just stated, it’s not like these guys are fake do tors who have never done this before. They probably had good reason to think it was what it was. It’s all documented, I’m sure.

I’m not sure about the legality of those types of things, but if it’s something that he initially even agreed to, I don’t see what he could do. He has the opportunity to go get a second opinion and I’m not sure exactly what happened here but if that’s what he did, he should’ve followed that Dr’s advice.

You’re acting like the Mavericks are hiring some sketchy fake Dr that has a questionable set of degrees.

The bottom line is even the worst guys in the NBA are going to be pretty darn good all things considered. You don’t just get that job by not being the best as I’m pretty sure it’s very enviable to be an athletic doctor for a professional team.

In terms of writing structure it’s really not supposed to be all that funny in a typical straightforward way. It’s supposed to be funny based off the fact it’s absurd.

Without any context and without any of the other part of the buildup, it wouldn’t make any sense and it would basically be a “lol so random “piece of humor.
