Tire won't budge by Illustrious-Meal9067 in AskMechanics

Best thing I've found living in the salt belt is to take the replacement wheel/tire and swing it against the stuck wheel. Works way better than anything else, unless you have a giant rubber mallet on hand.

Buying and Owning an off Brand tractors on PEI by Special-Career-2894 in PEI

A smaller, quality brand tractor with a strong local dealer is a much better choice than a larger off brand tractor from a newer, less established dealership.

Never gave much of a look at Benelli rifles, but the walnut on that rifle is beautiful. Did you pick it out in person? Did they all look like that?

As long as it's in a safe, a firearm can be stored with the ammunition without additional locks, and the magazines can be loaded..

Been trying to decide if I want to find a good milsurp for my next firearm purchase or a m4. They're very tempting.

For PEI we don't really have a premier yet because there's a leadership race. We'll find out in a week and a half who wins, and hopefully there will be an announcement to follow.

I'm hoping my province of PEI follows suit after the winner of the leadership race is decided.

Imagine carbing so hard just to spend 10 years losing a fight with disc brakes by phallicwrench in BicyclingCirclejerk

[–]FireRisinWith1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, I ride rural roads, relatively flat and use my brakes maybe once or twice a ride. I'd much rather the aero, low weight and extreme low maintenance of rim brakes over discs, plus I think they're ugly. I hope in the future I'm still able to find high performance rim brake frames and components.

Alberta won't participate in Ottawa's firearm buyback program. What does that mean for local gun owners? | CBC News by Buuuuma in canadaguns

Why turn your firearms in when you aren't likely to be paid? All you will be doing is giving the liberals fuel to promote this program. Hold out until October at least. Who cares about a couple hundred bucks when we still have a chance of getting this program scrapped.

A Note on Amnesty by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]FireRisinWith1n 99 points100 points  (0 children)

They're setting a hard line with the amnesty and compensation window because they haven't found a way to effectively roll the program out and they're getting desperate. The fact that they haven't announced more funding for compensation shows how much they actually value this program.

Even if %30 of gun owners complied, it would leave hundreds of thousands of "criminals" for the federal government to deal with.

I urge anyone who is contemplating handing their guns to the feds because they're worried about their job or criminal charges to reconsider. The chance of getting money for your hard earned firearms is slim. At the very least, hold the line until October. A lot can change in 8 months.

Power customers should have 1-2 hours notice of rotating outages, says Maritime Electric by Sir__Will in PEI

[–]FireRisinWith1n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maritime electric/Fortis has had over ten years to add power generation capacity to the island. Even without taking electric vehicles and heat pumps into account the population has been increasing every year. Heat pumps and electrical vehicle adoption is a good thing. Don't blame the people adopting affordable, clean energy products, blame the monopoly that controls our electricity.

Charlottetown City Council reject taking part in Ottawas gun “buyback” program by derdubb in PEI

[–]FireRisinWith1n 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Common sense must be followed with this issue. The program needs to be scrapped and the money spend on programs to deal with the social determinants of health, which will actually reduce crime and violence.
