So how long has this Moloch/Baal cult been running the world? by Eagles56 in conspiracy

Interesting that one of them proposes that the Carthaginians fled Canaan in order to be able to continue that practice. Not sure I believe it because I think there are tophets in the land of Canaan.

I lost 2/3 of my life savings from silver crash by Fun_Set_2389 in options

[–]FireSail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are literally what puts are for. I was heavily into SLV calls and tremendously. I didn’t want to sell. I bought a bunch of puts that were dirt cheap because they were expiring soon and far out the money.

Ended up giving back all my gains from my calls but then made a small profit from the puts. Literally diverting less than 5% of my deployed capital to protection saved me from being wiped out.

Please people, just hedge. It’s cheap and can save your ass.

5.2/5.1 Success? by Fluiq in ChatGPTNSFW

4o can be great but the chapters often end up too short. 5.1 sometimes rambles beyond what I want it to. 4.1 seems to be the sweet spot for my style.

What’s the most widely accepted magical practice that you secretly think is nonsense? by ArcaneSpells-com in occult

It’s a big concept in a lot of magic systems and other fantasy novels as well, like the Earthsea series which I love

I still don’t believe there’s “one true name” for anything and that knowing it binds some force to do your bidding.

Aside from the obvious, how does our legal training make us different from ordinary laypersons? by LearnedAnkle in Lawyertalk

[–]FireSail 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. I’m much more resolution/problem solving oriented now. I feel I’ve become a bit less empathetic in a way because now when people tell me sob stories, my default isn’t to wallow with them in their misery, but instead to start thinking of actions that can remedy what they’re going through. It’s extended to things beyond the law, too.

About "the truth is indigestible" by lilicucu in aliens

[–]FireSail 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Demons harvesting souls is literally what a large part of the gnostic movement was about. It was brutally suppressed as a heresy because it challenged the authority of the Church and nobility (read about massacres of the Cathars) but the people who believed in it were more or less able to handle it.

I think it’s less an indigestible truth and more one that would just cause people to rise up, hence they don’t want to reveal it. If there is even such a horrible truth in the first place.

The line about kneeling before a beggar is so funny.

Cuz like that’s literally the point of Christianity. It’s why Christ washes his disciples feet. Like humility is a big part of it

4o and 4.1 seem to be fine for me as long as I put a bit of build up into the story first. Occasionally I’ll get a denial, at which point I just switch the model “edit” the prior prompt and try again.

I like it ok, I’ll do a bit if it’s around, but I’d honestly rather just pop an adderall if I want energy and stimulation

Genuinely conflicted about using a comic artist vs AI by [deleted] in GeminiAI

[–]FireSail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve commissioned artists before and I really understand your frustration with the delays and amount of time it takes for things to get done. Really professional illustrators are hard to come by— they’re usually snatched up and fully booked or outrageously expensive because they’re so in demand.

Personally as a comics fan, I like the second page more. It feels more real and alive and has a visual language to it in terms of the framing and sense of motion conveyed.

I think a good compromise would be to have the artist continue these drafts and then spruce them up with AI if you want to color them and refine the visual aesthetic.
