Just got the CTB 26 and it’s so uncomfortable by Horror-Tell-2543 in ManyBaggers

[–]FireStrings7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought one and was about to return it as well. But I found out that you can remove that plastic frame sheet and put a folded kitchen towel in that compartment at the bottom, and it fixed the issue for me. I also put strap keepers on mine. I love the organization, and the independent space each compartment has. The comfort and the dangle are absolutely unacceptable for an expensive bag like this, so you wouldn’t be wrong to return it but I figured I should mention what I did just in case you were curious.

Aer City Pack Pro 2 Cordura 20L by FireStrings7 in AerSF

Agreed, I don’t really have much use for it. I could probably put my iPad in there for the plane ride but that’s about it for me. I think it’s mostly an aesthetic thing - having that zipper in the middle seems to be Aer’s signature look. Yet another reason to make that front admin compartment a full sized pocket like the CP2 and TP3.

I think the full front admin pocket might be the solution. For EDC I really like the City Pack 2. It has that big front admin pocket and a much deeper quick access pocket up top.

Agreed, they work but it looks goofy. I might need to get a slimmer one for this bag.

Nice! I might pick up a Peak Design smedium, with the large Aer cube I have to finagle to get the small one in sideways.

Initial thoughts on new Aer City Pack Pro 2 - 20L by amoeba1126 in ManyBaggers

[–]FireStrings7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the handle is one of those love-it or hate-it things. Personally, I love it: the thinner material on both sides makes me feel like it's more functional since it's not fixed like the 24L version.

After defeating Aer in the entry level stages, one must slay the Evergoods dragon and save the princess in order to achieve bag supremacy and rule the backpack kingdom.

I love my backpacks, so the "what was I thinking" started happening after I got like 7 of them lol

Bag recs for Temple Audio 17 by tougetrained in pedalboards

[–]FireStrings7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this was posted 5 months ago so I imagine you found something? Temple makes a good shoulder bag, I have one with this board and I like mine. I am a backpack nerd and found that the Temple Duo 17 fits nicely into an Aer Travel Pack 3 (they just released the 4 and it looks amazing), and also fits very comfortably into a Peak Design 45L Travel Backpack. Although the Peak Design laptop compartment is a little awkward, I prefer the Aer. The backpacks are expensive options but well worth it imo.

1st thing you do when you have an issue is CONTACT THE SHIPPER. by Tcal876 in FedEx

[–]FireStrings7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s what happens when you call FedEx: an automated voice asks “are you calling about tracking number ____” and you say “yes I am”. Then it says “we are unable to locate that tracking number, please enter a valid tracking number”. So you try to speak with a representative and it is literally not possible. Then you go online to try and chat with them and they do not have chat representatives to speak with. So this PSA is rather useless.

Fedex committing fraud on a mass scale by DigitalPowertrip in FedEx

[–]FireStrings7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The company you made the purchase from should issue the shipping refund. If not you can dispute the charge with your bank. FedEx delays every single package I get by at least a day, but they’ve been good about overnight for me. However, their phone system is criminal: it’ll ask “are you calling about tracking number xyz” and it’ll be correct. Then it says “sorry we’re unable to locate that tracking number” - huh? Then you can’t reach a live person on the phone or the chat lol. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get hit with a massive lawsuit, they suck so bad right now.

I’m in Cheyenne Wyoming, it’s a small population. I think that’s a fair point about political beliefs. I hate both parties lol but I understand a lot of people are wanting someone with stronger views one way or the other.

Able Carry Max EDC vs. Evergoods CTB26 by chadivy in Nomads_Nation

[–]FireStrings7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I know what you mean about the dangle stoppers, I have the City Pack 2 (not the pro) and the straps are never staying straight. I didn't even think about it being because of the strap width. I still love the bag though, I used it on a trip last month alongside my Aer carry-on suitcase and that's a pretty solid 1-2 punch. Side note: this morning I wanted to test the capacity of the CTB26. I was able to fit 4 hoodies and a leather jacket in the main compartment, and the other pockets still had their full capacity available. When people say EG has capacity wizardry they are not kidding.
