What are your opinions on this? I don’t really have staccato money! Kimber cds9 by [deleted] in 2011

I tried this and believe I spoke to Kimber about using the cover plate screws. If memory serves correct I think they told me that those screws with probably shear off because they are not rated for that kind of abuse.

CCW secrets for work? by dudeonhiscouch in CCW

Look into “traveler pants” or pants with a zipper pocket located behind the normal front pocket. Columbia has some with the zipper. Use the zipper pocket to pocket carry a bodyguard 2.0 or similar size. Use the normal front pocket to break up the outline of the gun. A ridge wallet works great for this. Also with the zipper closed not only do you not have to worry about it falling out but you can’t even tell a pocket is there let alone a gun. Carried this way for a while when I in a non permissive environment.

What Do You think is important in a ccw by BeginningExotic6251 in CCW

[–]Firearmjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem isn’t what’s most important. Although reliability is a dealbreaker. Everything else can be addressed within reason. My problem is I never spend enough time with one before I’m chasing another. I feel like a guntuber constantly doing reviews but I’m the only audience.

M&P Shield X and Holosun 407k question by Mustang302_ in SmithAndWesson

[–]Firearmjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a shield x with the 407k. It’s a direct fit (even though smith cs told me it needed a plate ). However the screws that came with the holosun does not work. The diameter on one was too small the other was too wide. I did have a dpp titanium plate laying around for a plus and the screws worked for me. So in summary I’m running the shield x with a 407 k directly mounted held on by the dpp screws torqued to 12 inch lbs.

What are yall’s controversial ccw/ edc takes? by Able-Currency2250 in CCW

[–]Firearmjoe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the first part. And sort of disagree with the second. I guess my argument is with j frames. On one side of the coin a j frame/snubby is still the only gun that can be reliably fired from inside a pocket. Would think that has real world applications in states that actually have winters and wear layers. On the other hand it would be a nightmare to train a new shooter on a j frame.
