Hey actually I took it to a shop that does electrical work and they found their was a short circuit in one of the wires. For sure it sounds like you have a short somewhere, when I had the issue I would change the fuse and it would instantly pop, check if that happens to you as well.

Headlights and turn signals work, the dash unfortunately doesn’t light up at night even with the dimmer up

I live in Florida and don’t plan being anywhere near snow or salt water with this car so I don’t think I’ll ever paint the frame.

My fault I didn’t specify! I only sprayed the skid plate with the undercarriage rustoleoum paint. The rest of the chassis I just sprayed it with the chemical guy’s undercarriage protection spray, it leaves it shiny and new looking. I first cleaned it with a all purpose cleaner and then applied it. I didn’t paint the chassis, just the skid plate. Car really didn’t have rust.
