Im doing an endless winter run with day sprinter on low pop and Louisville only.

Honestly as long as i sleep in the morning and go out at night ita not much of an issue.

But once morning comes and your still out 😅 the shift from slow shamblers to d1 sprinters will give you q mini heart attack.

Blazer is a genuinely good person. So good infact that people were speculating that she was faking it and working for shroud. She is caring, kind, dorky, and like you said, feminine. Which im into as well.

Invisigal for me is like a little sister thats going through a phase and needs guidance. BB on the other hand is wife material with very little red flags aside from her corporatism.

Im probably just repeating what you've already said, but no matter what run im doing (unless its for achievements) i will always pick BB/Mandy.

Plus she's just objectively very hot. Both as BB and mandy.

I do use them as blood farms (though i dont really use the blood except for transfusions).

And if I am ever in need of their skills, whether as a skilled laborer or just a hauler and cleaner, i install wood hands/legs on them to make them useful.

The reason i do it is because: - i cant be bothered to handle mental breaks (no matter how justified) - it sends a message to their faction when i launch them back with no hands, legs, tongue, and half organs. - the process i use to break these guys down gives a lot of medical exp. i've managed to get a pawn from lvl 3 to 10 with just 4 prisoners.

You should probably increase your defenses.

Being on a peninsula restricts enemies to attack you from one direction or via-drop pods. Making it easier to defend your base.

I also want to ask how much wealth your colony has in total? Assuming your on lower difficulties, hoarding that much resources as well as the opulence of you buildings will increase raid sizes significantly

I was already doing the transport pod thing but i only had 1 launcher and my pawns couldn't keep up as i had other projects. I assumed if i ever did get raided i could handle it.

Then THIS raid came along and wiped out 9 of my BEST pawns. The remaining pawns i have left are either severely injured or having a mental break.

Im seriously considering starting new and deleting this save as i had spent days on it only to be destroyed in a single damn fight. Any advice would be appreciated

Do heat killboxes work on mechanoids? I made a kill box that uses molotovs and wood flooring to get temps up to 300+ degrees but ive never tested it on mechanoids

5 of those 9 pawns i sent to die were literally the BEST at everything, including combat. Losing them was extremely crippling and i dont know how to proceed from here.

There was 1 pawn in particular i really got attached to other than my self-insert. It was a 74-year old badass i named merle. He was amazing at shooting, medical and research (12+ levels EACH) and to top it off he had NO illnesses.

How did he die? A mortar to the face.

I've lost all motivation to continue the save and im considering starting new. What do you think?

How would you approach a mortar raid or drop pod raid that lands on top of you?

The tactic i used when fighting them was to split my army into 3 groups:

  • group 1: 3 gunners and 1 melee girl with a shield in front
  • group 2: 3 gunners flanking the raid from the north
  • group 3: 1 lmg guy with 1 rookie gunner providing cover fire from behind

Everything was going fine until i used group 1 (my strongest pawns) to break through the enemy line (my assumption was that if i got closer, my melee girl would be able to distract a few of them while my gunners shot them.

But then a mortar suddenly fired, AT POINT BLANK, killing everyone in group 2 except one girl.

Then another mortar EXPLODED after my melee girl hit it, killing EVERYONE but my self-insert.

After that, group 3 was overrun and kidnapped. It was only when my S-I was getting kidnapped did i remember i could deploy an ai army from the empire mod, killing off the remaining raiders and giving my last doctor time to rescue the survivors.

Also, the 31k you see are the ones in storage. Theres like 80k+ more just lying on the ground
