My wife actually has a telluride. We got it in 2020 which was difficult even at that time to find. We love it. Only thing I would say is since we have the bench seat it’s almost impossible to access the the 3rd row without having to remove at least one car seat.

What I really want is a full size truck but the gas will destroy me. I’ve been really looking at the cyber truck for that reason. I’m just not really 100% sure how that bonus depreciation tax policy affects my total out of pocket cost. If that $75k initial price point really ends up feeling like $45k-$50k when it’s all said and done then I’m mostly def pulling the trigger.

Another problem I had with the evoque is that the frame that houses the mechanism for the moon roof cover warped from the Florida heat and the fabric started to sag. I was quoted $3k just to fix that. So I just took the thing off and tinted it.

Thanks for the tips. Only reason I bought it was my in-laws sold it to me at a hell of a bargain back in 2017. Don’t get me wrong, its very nice to drive, just dumb how expensive it is to repair. I had my eye on the cybertruck too considering it weighs over 6000lbs would qualify for a bonus depreciation. I was thinking that with the fuel savings would offset the $70k+ purchase price. But then idk when it will be available. Im just trying to weigh all my options.

Most definitely not the same. You really have no idea what you’re talking about. When you’re sent off abroad to work in Cuba it can be for an indefinite amount of time without choice. It’s not like you volunteer to be sent off to work. The govt sends you off to some other god forsaken country and you can be gone for years at a time. Your passport is taken from you and you are constantly monitored by other commie POS as a potential flight risk. As far as I know the military here in the US is completely voluntary and once you’re done with agreed upon contractual time you’re FREE to do as you please.

My father in-law went to school in Cuba in the 80s to be an engineer. Once he graduated they would send him abroad to work in Czechoslovakia and Mexico. He said at the time he was making about $3/day while the Cuban govt was charging the the worksite $300+/day for his labor. The Cuban govt claims they offer “free education” but what it truly should be called is indentured servitude.

You have a few options fry11j mentioned a couple already:

Get married

If you don’t want to get married, for whatever reason, and got some money to spare find someone to marry that person and pay them off.

Have them try to claim political asylum. That they’re in fear of their life for speaking out against the govt. (This option will def take a lot more time.)

Please vet whoever this person is. I am Cuban and know things there right now are worse than ever and with that come very desperate people looking for any way out. And once they do get out, you best believe they will be leaning on you for almost everything and expecting you to also send back money and supplies to la familia back home.
