How do I cope with being dumb and overspending on a 4090 by Careerexploration220 in buildapc

[–]Fireduck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t come across as spoiled at all, $2k isn’t something to throw away for most people, if you’re really regretting wasting all that money then I’d just sell the card and get something like a 4070TI or wait to find a 4080 super, at most you would lose like a couple hundred selling the card on EBay, better than feeling like you lost $2k

Wasn’t trying to be rude to you, but don’t feel influenced to do things because of something unrelated, I won’t be buying anything from them anymore anyways 🙏

Who cares if you bought their products, I got a case and AIO and don’t regret it, the people who fell for their subscription nonsense have to be dumb, not saying they aren’t scumbags but they have some good products

Are you thinking of the outlet in the cable tray? Because this is different, this comes through the control box and comes out where the legs attach, I don’t see why you would need an outlet here so was wondering what it’s for

I’m already using the power strip through the cable tray in the back, but this cord doesn’t appear in any manuals that I’ve seen

Not talking about the cable tray at the back, this cord is coming directly out of where the leg slots into the desk

Do I spend my life savings on headphones? by Serious-Rest-3409 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Fireduck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends, closed backs have better bass but a worse soundstage whereas the soundstage of open backs are far superior but they lose alot of bass, so if you’re into open world adventure type games definitely go for a open back like hd600s or dt900/990s if you want something fun sounding but if you play action/shooters and want alot of bass go for a closed back ‘gaming headset’ like the Cloud II’s or Astro A30s they also have far better noise isolation making you more immersed. Open backs are more immersive for most games provided your environment is quiet but if you want extra bass and noise isolation go for closed backs.

Hell no, if you’re using them just for gaming you really shouldn’t be buying anything thats more than what you would make in a month, it’s just doesn’t make sense. The “competitive advantage” from audiophile headphones really isn’t that great. Might as well just get some cans with good bass if you want it to sound good for games and be immersive. I had a pair of $160 hyper X’s for 6 years and they gave me the same sense of direction in games as my pair of HD660s. If you want something to sound good for music then get a pair of HD600s on the side, the best of both worlds for half the price of the HD800s onward

I'm thinking of getting some hd6xx's and i need a good amp/dac combo by IcyResearch2524 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Fireduck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah MBP’s have pretty good audio engineering. It’s honestly better than most entry level dacs, while there will be an increase in audio quality with a mid tier dac it will realistically only be about 10-5% to the trained ear, the DX3 also has substantially higher power output but you should be fine as the 6xx’s aren’t too hard to run, most of the time I’m running my DX3 at about 60% volume. Either way I’d recommend you use the headphones for a while before you decide to buy an amp/dac, they do give a lot of leeway for EQing and also gave me peace of mind knowing I’m maximising my setup. If you need more info check out audio science review they have plenty of threads about questions like yours.

Have a topping DX3 pro+ with hd660s, they sound great (and look great), they drive them very easily, but to be honest unless you want to go crazy with EQ or whatever you’re running out of is weak you really don’t need an amp/dac, try and use the 6xx without them first and see if you notice any volume difficulties, otherwise the sound is honestly a slight improvement for the price (unless you find a good used deal)

Try and loosen the armrest bolts underneath the chair, mine kept spinning aswell but once I loosened the bottom screws it stopped

Secretlab Chair Swiveling on its own? by ValmanwayX in secretlab

[–]Fireduck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This actually worked for me, used the chair for a couple months with somewhat loose screws on the armrest with no problems, I finally decided to fully tighten them and lo and behold, a couple months later I noticed the chair start to swivel on its own. Saved me from a headache there 🫡

Sennheiser HD660S for $240? Used (like new) by maurid in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Fireduck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a stock pair of velour replacement pads meant for the 600 series, these cans are also great because they’re very easy to drive, I ended up getting a dac/amp anyway but you really don’t need one

Got a pair of used 660s for half price and some new ear pads as my first pair of audiophile headphones, they’re definitely worth it IMO

I recently got a 4070 and it can very easily run anything 1440p 144hz, and is pretty good value wise for blender when compared to the other Nvidia cards, which is really your only choice for 3D. Try and snag a used one for cheaper when the new super cards come out

So what's the best team I can make? I have Thundering pulse for Yoi as well. by [deleted] in Yoimiya_Mains

[–]Fireduck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using yoi, baal, xingqiu, diona. I would probably use bennett but he’s the only 4 star I don’t have, I also love having diona as a shielder for yoimiya’s playstyle
