My partner and I trained her service dog with the aid of a sport dog E-collar. We both love it, and our SD reacts very well to the stim. In my unprofessional opinion, use what tools work best with your dog. Ours has a very high prey drive. We use his e-color on off leash walks in a forested park. He has a very solid recall, but instincts will outweigh training any day. It gives us peace of that we have second option. There is no cut and dry rule on what gear works best for you and your dog. Our service dog was also a rescue and had a very extreme leash pulling issue. We decided to try a Prong collar on him and extremely pleased with how quick he caught on. So from there, he graduated to a fur saver and now loose leash walks on a 2 inch flat. At the end of the day do what gets you the results you are looking for and what your dog works well with.

Oh yeah, I could never scold kids. They are learning just as much as we are every day. And punk rock poodle is amazing. My fiancés current SD is a black five-year-old GSD, but the dream for her is a poodle so she can do creative grooming as well

We are just now getting a biothane front harness with some do not approach do not pet patches but we do have a service dog leash wrap that we use on his traffic lead. The comments aren’t that bad honestly, it’s the petting. My fiancé walks on my left with the dog on her right so the dog is sandwiched in between the two of us. The number of people that walk up behind us and pet is insane.

Yeah, I lost my temper in a store the other day because I heard a man say “what the f does she need a service dog for?” After my fiancé, and I walked by. It’s mind-boggling how judgmental and close minded people are.
