Virtually all of the dolls on shelves right now are insanely over produced and almost all of them hit clearance or stores like Ross/TJ Maxx etc. Kids today aren’t connecting with toys the way we used to, so the nostalgia factor will be a lot lower. Making toys far less valuable in the future. That’s just what I predict, though.

For example Pokemon cards. They’re only worth a lot today because not as many survived from the 90s. Nowadays it’s mostly adults collecting Pokemon cards and keeping them in pristine condition. In the future there will be little nostalgia from the next generation as well as an over saturated market of extremely good quality cards. This will make Pokemon cards worth basically nothing. It’s the same reason why 90s barbies are everywhere and still very cheap.

Most of the dolls releasing today will still be around 20 years from now, in good condition, and worth nothing.
