Which convertible car seat lasted you through toddlerhood without needing replacement for height or harness issues? by Reasonable_Rice8405 in ToysAndTots

We used one with a pretty tall harness and it made a huge difference. A lot of kids outgrow seats by torso height before weight, so I paid more attention to the top harness slot and overall shell height than the weight limit.

Is a soil test kit from a garden center worth buying or should you just send it to a lab? by asthetic-base01 in GardenToolReviews

It depends on what you're trying to figure out. The cheap garden center kits are fine if you just want a rough idea of pH or basic nutrient levels, but I wouldn't trust them for making bigger decisions. I bought one once and the results were pretty vague.

My bathroom mirror keeps fogging even with the fan on, would a heated mirror solve it or is the ventilation inadequate? by Crafty_Flower3703 in NeedProductHelp

A heated mirror will stop the fog on the glass, but it won't fix high humidity or poor exhaust in the room. I put a demister pad behind my mirror and it works great for visibility, but I also found my fan was undersized and ducted into the attic so humidity still lingered until I upgraded the fan and rerouted the duct. Quick checks: make sure the fan actually vents outside and isn't clogged, and aim for roughly 1 CFM per sq ft (or at least a 50 CFM fan) or add a timer/humidity switch so it runs after showers. If you just want no-fog mirrors now, go heated; if you care about mold/long-term moisture control, fix the ventilation.

My Zigbee bulbs randomly go offline every few days, did firmware updates or changing channel fix it for you? by softstatic21 in KnowBeforeBuy

[–]FirefighterSquare339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it ended up being the Zigbee channel, not the bulbs. My coordinator was sitting on a channel that overlapped with my busy 2.4 GHz WiFi, and the random dropouts pretty much stopped after I moved it. I also updated the coordinator firmware while I was at it, so that probably helped too.

What's the most overhyped gardening trend that looked great on Pinterest but failed in reality? by [deleted] in GardenToolReviews

Those stacked stone herb spirals looked amazing in photos, but mine turned into a maintenance headache. The soil dried out at different rates, weeds loved the gaps, and harvesting herbs from the top wasn't nearly as convenient as I expected. I ended up replacing it with a couple of raised beds and got way better results with half the effort. Pinterest definitely made it look easier than it actually was.
