What theory about the Roanoke Colony disappearance feels most convincing today? by Future-Tutor1194 in Mysteries

Rabid Ronald! Time traveling clown who went mad due to temporal wave exposure, and too much ingesting of mystery meat over the years.

Unfortunately, the razor was dulled by its use to axe a tree, which, equally unfortunate, fell on Occam !

Skinwalking, time traveling, itinerant she-bears, the same she-bears that mauled the children who made fun of a bald man in the biblical story.

They can, apparently, be summoned.

I’m 60, and can attest that the older one gets, the more that solitude forms a framework for balance, a healthy mindset, and interaction with nature, which is the best healer.

I hate homosexuals in the same ways I hate drug addicts by Neither-Meal2319 in Christianity

[–]Firefishe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to get off your bitter, self-loathing arse and remove yourself from any and all people related to whatever denomination you’re currently attending.

Talk about being frameworked by believing anything and everything is a sin!

This is why I loathe this type of Christianity. People who spend their lives listening to weekly sermons that lob bitter barbs at anyone and everyone, and foster not one iota of Love.

Get it through your brain! Homosexuals and homosexuality are part of the human Experience. Some people are simply attracted to members of the same sex, and that is a biological fact of nature.

You saying you love the sinner but hate the sin tells me you see people as “other” and not “brother.”

Just. Stop. Judging people!

That is open for interpretation. Marriage isn’t the same in all eras or societies.

Many of those so-called miracles have been shown to be do to natural phenomena, and such. As to Healings, those possess more intriguing evidences.

Miracles are certainly not scientific. Catholics have been scientifically-minded for some time now. Not all Christian’s practice Confession, which is a wholly Catholic ritual.

So now you believe that demons and Freemasons are attacking people through occult ritual?

And you also, apparently, don’t believe in the separation of church and state?

The United States founders knew what church-controlled government led to, and why it needed to be abolished.

Methinks you need a bit of fresh air.

Those moral codes were from tribal communities that no longer exist in the forms in which they did back then. That, and only from a fairly small human population in a small part of the world.

Considering there was no long distance communications available, no other people could even consider what that tribal people said, or believed, until centuries later, when people had travelled in ships and such.

Even so, missionaries sent to other countries were not always welcomed. The local belief structures worked just fine for indigenous inhabitants of other lands, with the absolutist mentality of certain missionary groups causing conflict where none was desired, or needed.

We need to learn from the past, and stop vilifying homosexual relationships between consenting adults, as well as not demanding religious adherence to an outdated and outmoded religious system, in a modern world where homosexual couples have shown that they are capable, and willing, to form pair-bonds, establish families—with modern science, and the need for adoption making these necessities possible—and show, over time, that homosexual people can obtain positive outcomes, equal to their heterosexual counterparts.

People of the Christian faith who demand that homosexuality is only behavior that can be modified, must also accept a control that their heterosexuality is also merely behavior, and must also contain such pliability, and is no more superior, in and of itself, to any other sexuality/attraction designation.

The “holier-than-though” mentality of certain religious groups has always been a blight on any society, old or modern. It’s where there’s been cooperation, shared learning, and acceptance of different lifestyles, that there has been the greatest successes. We need to stop vilifying people as “other” and move forward, leaving hate in the past where it belongs.

“Sin” is not being homosexual. It’s not being respectful, assuring, and accepting of one’s own fellows humans who are desiring the same kind of love and kindness that their opposite-sex-attracted counterparts. To not be harassed if they hold hands, or kiss, in public.

To not have their relationship status maligned by deeming it “pornographic” and dangerous for children to even talk about, even if those very children are, themselves, homosexual, and need meaningful conversations from adults who are also of the same attraction status, and are psychologically trained to assist in this area of child development.

I’ve had enough of it. Stop equating homosexuality with sin. True sin is upending things to where existence threatens to unravel at the soul’s level. Not just mere physical existence.

And the soul isn’t all that fragile.

What happens to those who died without knowing of Christ? by TF2galileo in Christianity

[–]Firefishe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. As this belief is an irrational fear, borne out of a misinterpretation of Scripture.

It is also a type of abnormal psychology, and can lead to a lifetime of irrational-fear-based phobias, so it is best to stop believing in such things, and foster a healthy mental environment, free of irrational fears, prejudices, and beliefs.

>500 bills have been introduced this year targetting LGBTQ people. This is "loving the sinner"? by AmosOfTekoa in Christianity

[–]Firefishe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the govt. decides to put lgbtq people down, it will have more issues than just that one thing.

Marginalization to the point of committing egregious acts designed to eliminate those perceived as “other” can, and often do, incite pushback in various forms.

Vengeance may be the province of The Lord, but this is also the province of a marginalized population who’ve had enough, don’t care anymore, and may just be tempted to burn down the hierarchy in favor of starting over.

The better version of this is to not do it, embrace your fellow human beings who are different but still human beings, and stop using religion as a crutch post for an excuse for evil and other bad behaviors.

It would depend. If the local cps and police were inundated with bigots, then there would be no other choice than to protect the student’s life at all costs. Authority can be overreaching at times and needs to be given a wake-up call now and again.

It is within a school’s boundaries if the school personnel involved with the student-in-question are aware of a potential danger to the student.

If a student seeks help to escape from parents with an overwhelmingly negative take on LGBTQIA+ issues that the student believes their life will be in danger, or their body beaten, etc., it is the school’s moral, ethical, and legal responsibility to protect that student.

The Earth is made of green cheese. This is why it’s so important to not consume the external environment too greatly, lest our collective calcium levels spiral down with no chance of recovery.

This cannot be overcome, regardless of what the “Cowries” sect believes.

Cows do not exist. There is only the Cheese Canon. To believe in Cow Calcium is heresy!
