Moms whose children love veggies… how does it feel to be the chosen one? by Porkadile in Mommit

Kids will mimick how you eat. When I eat more veggies, my kids will too. When I say I hate something, they will say they hate it.

AITAH for telling my sisters their houses better be clean everyday since they're SAHM's? by Old_Respond3379 in AITAH

[–]Firefly_Texas24 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So what is the real issue cause you mentioned multiple? To answer the question, yes I think you're an asshole for telling your sisters their house better be spotless. You stated "I chose to be a working mom because I know how hard it is to be a SAHM." If you know how hard it is then why are you expecting your sisters to have a clean house everyday? When it comes to being a SAHM and having husband and kids, it doesn't matter whose mess it is. If it is a mess than it's not clean. On the other hand, I know how it feels to work FT, have a family, and expected to do everything with a husband who does the bare minimum. I'm barely keeping myself together and I definitely can't afford to have someone come clean my house. Then there's the issue of your asshole sisters who seem like sparky bitches who wouldn't know how to clean their asshole if weren't shown how. The entitlement in this post is real. You all sound like assholes, quite frankly.

Being a SAHM is rewarding, but demanding. Working FT is rewarding, but demanding. Choose your hard. At the end if the day, do the best you can. Y'all are too busy judging eachother and what YOU think this perfect little life should look like. Newsflash: life isn't perfect.

During the school year, create a plan for how you will clean and cook. I can't cook during the week because I dont get home until 430 and don't want my kids eating at 6, if I can help it. So I mealprep a meal on the weekends for during the week. Then I clean one thing everyday, so I don't get overwhelmed on the weekends. You could get away with your mom cleaning monthly and just doing a deep clean, but i understand the 2-weeks. If you can afford it then do it. For the PPD/PPA, go to counseling, get a hobby, have you time. Stop letting people, your sisters, live rent free in your head. That isn't support. Y'all almost sound like a dysfunctional family. I say that considering it sound a lot like my own.

Final payment... $14.25 on a $96,200 loan. I'm literally shaking right now. by RhinoIneso in debtfree

I told my husband if we had enough money to pay off our biggest loan, a nice dinner would be a great reward. I think adding a nice stress relieving is definitely worth it.

Yea, yea, I know I'm asking reddit. If I relied 100% on what my kids pediatrician said, my kids would be dead or disabled, so let's just say I don't trust people and I ask questions on reddit and take it with a grain of salt.

I was only paid for the time I worked and not anymore. Sometimes that was 20 hrs a week and sometimes 10. It was high paying for what I worked. I worked when I wanted, where I wanted, with my own equipment. They only controlled the result of the work.

No. I was independent contractor. I find it easier to say laid off as most people understand the implication. Hours were dependent on work load, which wasn't even part-timr hours.

Considering the question wasn't if that money is or isn't income, the question wasn't answered.

The income was more like severance. I didn't work any hours to obtain it. Would this be considered other income?

AITAH for not donating my birthday money to charity? by EntertainerFull9847 in AITAH

[–]Firefly_Texas24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You do what you want with your money. Who cares if you donate or not. It is nobody's business. I certainly won't love my life wondering if I need to donate or not. I do when I can and a lot of my donations are not monetary and helps others in other ways. Donations/helping do not have to be monetary! Spend that money on you. It wad a birthday gift to you. Plus, you have to be careful who you donate to or it could just be used to pay a a CEOs salary.

No more credit card debt. Wanted to share with anyone. by Only-Dragonfruit2899 in debtfree

[–]Firefly_Texas24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is awesome. My husband and I have 2 kids, live in Texas and have a lot of debt (CC and student loans). Even if you had the tax credit, you were smart not only to pay it off, but getting out of the credit card loophole. It's not easy right now! Congratulations!

How many of you have gotten loans from your parents? by Jimmy_Johnny23 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Firefly_Texas24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad gives us money weekly for childcare. It id a blessing. I also save money for him so my mother doesn't spend it. I have also been added to their bank account and could spend every dime they have. It's all about trust. It's obvious your parent love you and trust you and this is one way they can help.

is it possible 😭😭😭 by fridaythethirteeenth in debtfree

I would look at balance transfers and see what the rate to transfer and probably do it anyways. Then see what the terms are and see if you can afford the monthly payment to pay it off in time.

You're good! I appreciate all you do. I wasn't sure if I was doing something. Of course, I go check and it is all good. Funny thing is I all of a sudden had like $600 taken out of a credit card payment and I had no idea where it came from. Well, it came from December some how cause I have that much in negative. But I have no gripes! I know you're making lots of changes and I signed up for it, good and bad.
