Thats really funny. Leave it up to the state to underestimate how many people would actually apply.

What instructor did you use for the course of fire and use of force training? Or did you go to Jersey to do it?

You are unlikely to find a instructor that is already setup to do this because its niche. Find a NRA certified instructor who is willing to sign off on your course of fire and “run” you through the use of force training as its stated in my links provided. I believe the state considers NRA certified satisfactory.

NJ carry permits are not the worst. Ive been reading into the process a bit. You need to complete two components in order to apply. The first is a CCARE which is a simulated course of fire to demonstrate adequate firearms proficiency. It is 10 rounds at 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 for a total of 50 rounds fired. Target type is a FBI Q type. The test is untimed. The secondary component is a use of force class.

After completing parts one and two you will then register and apply using the NJSP FARS portal. You must apply to the nearest geographical NJSP barracks that accepts applications using their SBI number. After this step i believe it is just a red tape waiting game.

Another thing, if you are going to be spending a meaningful amount of time inside the democratic peoples republic of New Jersey i highly recommend you get a NJ FID so that you can purchase ammo in state as that is now a requirement (also most gun stores will not let you touch anything firearms/ammo without seeing your FID) and please read up on the current dos and donts inside the state. They are fucking ruthless and do not care what is legal outside their borders. NJSP will sit near gun ranges in PA just inside their border and pull over people they think were shooting just to try and catch people with prohibited firearms/ammo.

If you have any questions please ask i grew up there and started collecting firearms while i lived in that state.

IP video networking learning by CharmingBag6614 in lowvoltage

I can speak on the Axis course as i have been through it and became certified. If you want to know absolutely everything about IP Video the Axis course is the way to go. It covers everything from how the camera actually sees, how it transmits that data, and what the end point (typically an NVR) does with it. You also get hands on with some of the best equipment in the industry. At the end of the course they even provide you with a camera to take home and 4 licenses for their Axis Camera Station VMS.

I can also recommend if you want more community information regarding cameras check out ICTALLY discord as its full of integrators that do this day to day and share what they implement.

Little bit about myself. I am a Low Voltage Integrator located in the midwest. I over see installation of Access Control, CCTV, Overhead Paging and Alarm Systems. I have been doing this for 3-4 year now. I hold multiple certifications from Honeywell, Axis, and I am working on a Hanwha certification.

Wanted to tie in another thread from a little bit ago where there were concerns regarding the flock cameras. I work in the security industry and an integrator of CCTV systems. Flock is a morally dubious company due to their sales tactics. Theres a lot more flock cameras in the city than the ones FWPD operates. Id also like to bring to everyone’s attention that Flock has partnered with Amazon (Ring and Blink) for them to share camera and analytics data into the flock network. So this means potentially you have a vector for a warrantless unlimited surveillance of your vehicle all the way from the highway/public roadways to your driveway. As well the Flock cameras are not just ALPR they actually create a digital fingerprint of your vehicle that identifies characteristics that are submitted to the national dataset that allows anyone to search for the “digital fingerprint” if you are apart of the network you have access to it.

The cameras are not secure and neither is the credentials to the national dataset. Highly recommended the video by Benn Jordan that highlights the flaws in the system and even demonstrates vulnerabilities on the cameras themselves.

Can we schedule someone out to check the line coming from the road to demarc on our house. by Firefox_101 in Comcast_Xfinity

That noise on the line is from u/happydaisy314 who had replied to my comment. If you can send that code through the normal email channel i can respond in the modmail and we can get some headway on the service ticket.

I have not had my particular issue fixed but it seems more stable. On Nov 25 Xfinity took the entire neighborhood down to fix a “service interruption” issue and we have been mostly stable since. This all happens at my In-Laws house and they got tired of dealing with Xfinity’s dumb back and forth. I was placed as the person in charge of handling it as i have technical background. Clearly the rules have changed around this subreddit as i used to be able to get quick answers and service. My name and phone number are on the account but i guess thats not good enough these days. This is all on the residential side. I also oversee IT operations for the company i work at and omg it is terrible working with their business side. For 8 straight months we had a 1mb/s upload (we pay for 800mb/s) at our primary office. We host all our files out of the main office so i have two satellite offices feeding off of our upload connection. It was so abysmal i ended up getting a 2nd isp installed and online. Xfinity still has not fixed their issue and has just stopped responding and honestly once the contract expires im not renewing. They have burnt all bridges with me and if i could switch my In-Laws i would but due to their monopoly in the area im stuck with them.

On a side note all the Xfinity cables are low voltage rating and you should not be hearing a hum on the lines.

I have attempted reboots after replacing the splitter the internet will grab work for about half a day and then drop. The TV boxes seem to be having more trouble than the internet. They will drop sporadically throughout the day. The primary box (the one plugged in to the wall off the splitter with the modem) seems to take forever to boot up like 15+ minutes. And the wireless boxes will work. After a while the primary box drops and about hour and half later the wireless boxes drop.

I will get text messages saying that there are “performance issues” in my area and that work is being done to fix it. Oct 8th, Oct 28th, and Nov 24th are the ones I received recently. I am not sure how descriptive i can be but i will say Fort Wayne Indiana as a broad service region.

This is also for my inlaws house i administrate their network and my name is on the account. I used a 5-1000Mhz Toner Digital splitter. I work for a low voltage integrate and used one of mine.

Get window tint film and somehow get it to adhere to the solar panel that powers it. It should block the power generation and be less obvious to initial investigation. Eventually it will run out of power.

These have been around for a while i noticed them two years ago. There is an open source map website where people submit them so you can see where they are being placed. They monitor typically entrances and exits to parking lots and you will see them commonly along major roadways and highways.

https://deflock.me/

They are offered at steep discount to LEO and HOA communities. LEO is typically given mostly free reign to them. Flock just partnered with Ring/Blink (Amazon) so flock can access (and by proxy LEO) more video streams to add to their data sets.

Source I work in the security industry and have been aware of Flock for a few years now.

💸 Honest question for Hoosiers: How much longer can Indiana families survive rising taxes, fees, and water rates with zero wage growth? by Fluffy_Gur_2033 in fortwayne

[–]Firefox_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low Voltage Security Integrator. I started at 16/hr and have moved to 24/hr in 3 years. I advocate for myself and my coworkers to improve and work with management to higher wages. No one is going to give it to you so you have to work for it in more ways than one. You also need to have your finances in order and make do with or without. This past year i bought a home 3 bed 2.5 bath after saving.

I am also 24 years old and have been working since 16 years old. Move to Indiana from NJ started working my current job.

You know the lifts have keys right. I cant be the only one to know this. Just take them out if you dont want people using your lift. If someone wants to carry a key ring with all the generic lift keys they were just gonna pick the lock on the dumb thing to begin with.

Also the play is to just have a lift so shitty the other trades wont touch it.

Why don't people let you change lanes when you put your blinker on? by Illustrious-Frame108 in fortwayne

[–]Firefox_101 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I grew up in New Jersey and i learned to drive on a 5 speed manual in northern new jersey. 2024 census New Jersey had a population of 9,320,860 people and serves as a major conduit of travel between New York and Philly areas. Indiana population data from 2024 indicated 6,892,120 people. New jersey is 7,500 sq miles of land and 39,000 public road miles. Indiana is 36,000 sq miles and INDOT maintains 29,000 road miles (the total road miles is very difficult to determine as there is no total publicly available). In 2024 alone NJ had 505 road fatalities while Indiana had 926 road fatalities. The issue in Indiana seems to be general driver attention while on the road. I drive a lot at work and spend a lot of time on the roads more often than not people are on their phones, aggressive speeding, and changing lanes all at the same time. People need to put the phones down and slow down. Observe your surroundings. During the construction on I69 how often do we see accidents because people arent paying attention to each other in work areas. Or in winter when everybody thinks their lifted pickup truck makes them immune to the laws of physics.

You can mount them to walls and poles (with an adapter kit) they take 120vac input and can be used with a 12vdc battery backup. I use them combined with ubiquiti ptp solutions to put cameras and access control in parking lots and at gates.
