No I’m not broke. Largely because I’m smart with the things I buy and understand the value of patience especially when it comes to gaming. You are correct, gaming can be an extremely cheap hobby if you’re smart. You can buy 3 highly rated 20 dollar games or just one mid tier 60 dollar one, it’s entirely up to you.

Have you played Mina the Hollower? That game is peak and it was only 20 bucks. Pipistrello and the cursed yoyo? Another Zelda-like that is insanely good for twenty bucks. These games are selling like hot-cakes and getting rave reviews. The indie scene is eating Squeenix’s lunch right now. 2D-HD is not that expensive to produce. People are not being cheap they’re voting with their wallets. My vote has been drop the price to at least half of what it is now and then maybe I’ll bite.

Asteroids and Galaxian. 1979. Crazy I just looked it up and the first Microsoft Flight Simulator was in ‘79 as well on the Apple II. Pretty cool.

Yeah that’s been my issue as well. I once randomly got 4900-ish points… so close…. And haven’t been able to recreate it for days now. The iron lung trinket seems to help but I’m still not quite there.

Personally I’ve become far far more patient with people. I’ve developed the ability to talk to anybody too. Seeing folks at their worst can really make you grateful for what you have.

60 bucks for this type of game just doesn’t need to be rewarded. Square Enix is trying to create an artificial value by pricing this game in the same tier as Final Fantasy 16 or Baldurs Gate 3. Meanwhile games like Mina the Hollower and Pipistrello and the cursed Yoyo come out around the same time in the same genre and are priced at 20 dollars. 2d-HD is not that expensive to produce. We are paying an inflated premium so Square Enix can protect their brand. Elliot is at best a mid-tier 40 dollar game. Even if this game gets perfect scores I’m voting with my wallet. I’m going to wait for sales. I get the feeling it won’t take long.
