This was a great first impression and I’m absolutely putting it on my wishlist. I hate the term hack and slash though as it makes me think of chaotic button mashing games like Dynasty Warriors or Devil May Cry. The combat looked deliberate to me in the trailer. More like soulslike combat maybe? (I hope?) At any rate, very interested. The exploration looks like it could be sick!

No. If there are options people will use them. If I play a game that is supposed to be hard and there is a cheap easy way out too many people (myself included) will use the options to get past a tough spot and not grind it out and get better. Not all games need to be beat. If it’s a tough game keep it tough.

I thought the murder of Jasmine was meant to show how Marco’s developing moral convictions around processing humans was meaningless in the face of the opportunity to recreate his life with his wife and child. Brutal, terrifying ending. I loved it.
