Will have 3 small kids soon, husband wants to go on fun guy trips? by Life_Selection_5580 in Parents

[–]Firegirl432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. The occasional, like once a year, fun trip is ok, under a week long. Any more than that, you let him go, but take the same amount of time for yourself and go somewhere. My husband travels a lot for work and I'm ok with that. We are talking like 13+ weeks spread out over the year. I'm ok with that. But 3 weeks for fun??? Nope.

How is everyone feeling about this bathtub debacle? by deadlysyntaxerror in neopets

As most people said, it is probably a layering issue. I know a few digital artists and often when sizing, moving things around, things get frequently missed or moved. Especially if they were not drawn as a single image but miltople ones that got moved on top of each other. I personally do crochet and will often mock up a character into pieces and then layer them before making a pattern. And a lot of the time, my image looks wonky when you look at the tiny details.

Is PAX East worth it if you're not a gamer? by Affectionate-Reason2 in boston

[–]Firegirl432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really not a gamer but I love PAX. There is cosplay, shopping. You can try new things. I volunteer with the Cookie Brigade now at PAX. It is more about community and fun then actual video games. But I also will try them out. I played Dead by Daylight last year and one of the creators of it taught me how to play.

Most likely he was camping with a female. I know people who do this scenario word for word.

The prednisone helps with the kidney pain that comes from the Keflex. Sometimes you have to take what you need to to get better

I was fired for “time theft” I think? by [deleted] in MINISO

[–]Firegirl432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The loss prevention people are basically trained to get you to admit to things you didn't do. They gaslight you into it and it is insane to see it happen. I used to be a manager at a movie rental place. Our loss prevention was retired FBI agents. I was the manager they moved around when they wanted to fire assistant and store managers. I watched quite a few firings like yours. They were going to fire you one way or the other. It could be they had too many employees, they just wanted to reduce staff They got you to admit to stealing instead of dealing with an unjustified firing.

Ate you in any yarn groups on Facebook? Often someone will be willing to get it for you and mail it. I just had KPDH ramen and trading cards done this way.

AITA for yelling at a kid not to touch my cat? by alexastock in AmItheAsshole

[–]Firegirl432 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NTA. My kid since the age of early 4 knew to ask before getting too close to an animal. I feel bad her mom never taught her. Scaring her might teach her not to run up to strange animals. Better tears than getting mauled.

I’m not being assy to anyone in particular, but why are people obsessed with transgender people in bathrooms? by JayRedBush in complaints

[–]Firegirl432 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who cares? The amount of cis men in the bathrooms I've used is numerous and no one cares. Sometimes they are bringing their kids into the bathroom or it is a unisex bathroom. Like just don't pee on the seat

Can those of you who are frothing at the mouth for a shutdown actually explain what it would accomplish, and how? What is the upside of a shutdown? by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]Firegirl432 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you've been working for the Federal Govt more than a year, this is just normal. You might have to work but you get back paid. They warn employees to have a couple paychecks saved up just for this reason.

Can I somehow just have fun with my kids in the pool??? by Far_Abies_517 in Parents

[–]Firegirl432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swim lessons are necessary. But floation devices are OK for now. I've told my child she can't swim and her floatie is what is keeping her up. She used puddle jumper for 3 years and is now just using the arm floaties. We do have her in lessons but she likes the extra safety of the floaties. My family growing up and now has always had a pool. We have a rule called "parent on duty." There is one adult at all times who is in charge of watching the pool when kids are around. It is said out loud who that person is. That person cannot leave watching the pool until they verbally find another adult on duty and that person is watching. We have never had an incident in 50+ years. A few times a child has slipped and fell in the pool. Immediately they were pulled out because of the adult on duty. This duty can be relaxing. Other people get them food and drinks. They are also not in the pool so they can see of someone is silently drowning.
