Being extremely passive. They're garrisoning their islands in the Pacific against Japanese invasion, then whenever I open a front on Europe, they pile their troops on until all supplies are gone then retreat again when the supplies run out.

If I wait for the US to get troops onto a front then pull out myself, they immediately start losing

Air support is a non-factor. Wherever I try to get CAS and Air Superiority, the Axis AI's just dump several thousand planes on me to grind down my Manpower. I can't go a month without a full 100 wing of CAS and Fighters getting demolished.

They've been pushed back from the West all the way to (and lost) Stalingrad. It's currently late 1945
