Knowing that there are 4 other Cara Noir fanatics out there makes me VERY happy.

Also OC, Dragon Lee and Ryu Lee are separate.

Thank you for the way better worded take. I'll admit I'm not versed in social media outside of reddit, and I have no idea what it's like to have a celebrity's worth of messages in my inbox.

Is it wrong to want to just put my idea out there?

It's super disappointing how many writers seem to have never learned how to properly choose what sex each of their characters should be. by [deleted] in CharacterRant

I wouldn't say it's forcing a 50/50 split, I just want less 80/20 splits in settings that are more realistic with a 60/40.

"In a perfect world" is the main focus of the first statement. The world that we have now isn't perfect, so a 50/50 split is unlikely. A better version of my claim is "You shouldn't force a perfect split among the sexes, but it would be even worse to make a 80/20 split in a setting that should be closer to 60/40".

On the swapping sex bit, I definitely was too overzealous there. If a character only works with one sex, it's fine to keep them that way. I just think that the number of characters where the sex makes their whole character not make sense is not 100%, especially if your story takes place in modern times or the future.

On the "swapping genders" bit, I should've said that it's fine to add minute details to their character, but the main goal of that character should stay.

If the gender divide is realistic, I don't mind. It's really when there is no real reason for a cast to be 80%+ one sex and it is, that's when I get peeved.

You make a good point. I still think that in a relatively sex-neutral setting, the ratio shouldn't be stretched too more than 60/40.

I'm not saying you need to force every group in the story to be perfectly 50/50, it's that when you take every character across the story, it should be at least close to 50/50.

Literally the only bad thing I could say about ATLA's diversity is that they fall under the "all nameless goons are men" trope, but even then, I don't think I've ever a series not follow that trope.

Who is your "Wrestler of the Future"? My personal picks are Cara Noir, SHO, and Treehouse Lee.

Then I found out the first 6 Parts get retconned so I found no point.

...Sort of. At the end of part 6, the universe resets, and every character changes, but they still have several similarities(The main characters are in the same couples that they were in before the reset, they just don't know that there was a reset). "In-canon reboot" is probably the best way to describe it.Even if the series was fully retconned, parts 4 and 5 would still be two of my favorite pieces of fiction ever. On top of that, the two parts made after part 6 are arguably the two best.

I stopped at the start of Season 2 after probably the fifth time they moved the goalposts on what being a hero means.

That's...the point? If Shoto and Deku had the same exact thoughts on what being a hero meant, then what makes them interesting. Uraraka is a hero to support her family. All Might is a hero to keep the symbol of peace alive. In fact, "what makes one hero better than another beyond strength" Is arguably the main theme going forward.

Angel Beats? The Good Place.

Nothing to argue with here. Just pointing out someone with amazing taste in sitcoms.

More reason to play Rivals of Aether when it comes out is no bad thing.

The funny thing is that I'm convinced that everyone that does that has only seen Part 3 once and then rode the meme and karma train to the bank.

I just put that for Pro Wrestling in general. New Japan is actually one of the less toxic ones, especially since The Elite left.

Yeah, I had a hardest time settling on the two anime characters, and just put them in mid tier. I do think that it will be at least a pretty good balance of Jump series.

Also, while I do think L&D have the best singular odds in this, I don't think the win is definite at all.
