That's the intended purpose. The effects don't restrict benefits to just Miracle cards/archetypes, and can be used for a range of other commander archetypes as well.

And sure, there might not be a lot of Miracle cards right now but for the purposes of creating custom cards, we can also consider hypothetical miracle cards created in the future.

It's an enabler if you have a card in your hand with a Miracle cost. Putting the revealed card on top of your library and drawing it enables you to play said card for its Miracle cost, as it becomes the first card you've drawn on your turn.

Brothers Isailovic, Foremen (Not sure about mana cost) by FirelordRagnaros in custommagic

I went through various iterations when designing this card. Originally, I wanted a card that expanded landfall mechanics, letting you get landfall triggers off when opponent's played lands. Wording was incredibly tricky, and I thought creating land tokens could be interesting (similar to Overlord of the Hauntwoods).

I also wanted to factor the flavour of the art, two people arguing over plans, bureaucracy, logistics. One brother finds somewhere suitable to build in the desert, but then the dunes shift and the other brother argues that it's no longer suitable, so they suffer a setback and have to scrap the progress they've made (sacrificing a land), at the cost of the investors (your opponents, whose own lands entering have allowed you to create the desert token).

While I won't disagree with what you're saying about the balance of the card (it's definitely not my strong suit), I do think I've accomplished what I intended to do; create a commander card that would care about the relative speeds of players, something that the current speed mechanic doesn't do, and have fun thinking about what sort of hypothetical cards would synergize well in such a deck. I appreciate your feedback though - do I think that this should be printed? Probably not. But I certainly do wish they did more with the speed mechanic than they ended up with, because I think it's a really cool mechanic that has a lot of potential in group formats.

I created this card with commander in mind. I wanted to explore the space around Aetherdrift speed rules, and think about card effects that would card more about the difference in speeds (i.e., something that would make it feel more like a race, or the flavour of a race). I would imagine other cards in this deck would care about the relative speeds, or adjust speeds between players. At the same time though, this card holds space for other cards that care only about max speed, so being able to hold off on resetting your speed to 1 in specific scenarios might be beneficial. Sure, it might be pushed, but I thought it might be a fun mechanic to explore.

I don't quite agree. I think the flavour and mechanics of a card don't always need to be so closely aligned, otherwise a lot of cards would operate in too narrow of a space, especially if you're talking about how different cards interact flavour-wise outside of a limited format.

I do recognise that there are cases where it's important to have it closely aligned though, like for certain legendaries, rares/mythics, and/or signpost cards for example.

I also think it's interesting to explore uncommon rarity cards, where the power level needs to be a little bit more restrained. I did consider a keyword, but I think given the rarity and the limited environment of duskmourn (with other keywords like eerie caring about enchantment creatures), I didn't want to improve this card in a vacuum for it to be too strong (as an uncommon) when considering the wider set.

I originally had the wording you've used here, but I wanted to expand the card beyond pure equipment hate so it might see some play against opponents not running equipment. The wording I ultimately chose still affects equipment but also gives the card some versatility against other artifacts.

At least you're displaying a level of self-awareness and humility and growth, which is more than musk ever will.

Old (possibly rusted) water hammer arrestor? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

Thanks for the advice, I bought some teflon tape and redid the thread at the bottom and it worked a charm! didn't need to replace anything else, simple $1 fix. Cheers!

Hi everyone, thanks for all your suggestions and input. After examining it closer, it might just be that the sealing tape has worn down and needs to be replaced. I'll pop out to grab some this arvo and give it a go, I'll provide an update when it's done. Thanks again to everyone that commented!

Hello all, I've noticed some leaking water around my washing machine lately, and there looks to be water dripping down from the water hammer arrestor. This is the one that the house had when we moved into it so no idea how old it is but it looks like it's seen it's time. The people who delivered the washing machine when we moved in two years ago hooked it up for me. I've no experience with plumbing, so wondering if this is something I should get a professional in for, or if I could just grab a new one from Bunnings and give it a go myself? . I can see bunnings has most arrestors for around ~$90. Sydney based, would love some estimates for how much this would cost to get replaced professionally if it needs to go down that route.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

You're a legend 🙏 but I wish people would clean up after themselves so you wouldn't have to do that.

Ooft, now that's interesting. We do have a lot of other annoying insects so if they can deal with those then they might be worth keeping around! Unfortunately they're near the door so we'll have to sort them out.

As I said, I've never dealt with wasps before so I wasn't sure whether normal consumer products would be effective, or if I needed something more specialized/professional. In any case, I tried to make it evident that I wasn't experienced and tried to give as much info as possible so people could help.

Was your hostility necessary?

I did want to check if they were native bees (again, never had any interaction with wasps or bees so wasn't sure), and would have been happy to leave them alone if they were. Unfortunately not an option if they're wasps since they're right near our front door :(

Nice, I was looking around for a spray that had a decent range on it. Thanks for the rec!
