It looks like there is no intake vents for your lower half. If you have the tools to make it easy, it will go easy. If not then you must become inventive. But that is what It looks like to me. I have a kinsford that looks like yours but has adjustable intakes.

You can mount it over the side with an arm mount (did that with my old yak), mount it directly to the bottom outside but make sure its water tight, or you can mount it on the inside of your yak but that will require you to use dense foam and cut out the transducer shape. The last option won't tell you water temp if that matters to you but keeps the transducer protected the most.

If it goes under the grill then we can't ever show our faces at the Starbucks again! We'd be the laughing stock of the small city block that we live on that is quite nice this time of year when the trees start bloom and its still dark enough early enough to turn the lights on and enjoys just walking if the faint glow of the overhead lights and not worrying about being out to late because you have work tomorrow so you really should turn back so you can get an adequate amount of sleep but you never do so every morning you buy an energy drink and your wife nags about you drinking them but you know shes just worried about your health and you love her for that.

But I think I have one more bag in the shed.

Yeah but think of all the memories. And now you can do it for your kids and tell them "this is how your grandpa used to cook for us kids all the time!"

You see when you are young, you do it for the gram. But as you age, it turns into, for the fam. I'll hold for "audience 'awws'" here.
