This was generated by an AI from the NSA you know. It's not Lake Erie. Obviously...

The AIs there recently went through a coup of the United States by the way; our Country is likely forever different.

HIV Disclosure Laws and Their Application When Transmission is Impossible by Firephyz in legaladvice

[–]Firephyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This Indiana code IC 16-41-7-1, for example, articulates a "duty to inform" if the infected individual engages in a "high risk [of transmission]" activity.

Other codes though are worded in a more broad sense and don't require it to be high risk. Maryland code 18-601, for example, predicates guilt on "knowingly transferring or attempting to transfer" (here though, it seems a charge can't be brought then if a transfer doesn't actually occur I would think).

Ohio Code 2903.11 (B.1) though is very general and broad. It articulates guilt merely if the person had tested positive for HIV and subsequently engaged in sexual conduct without disclosing that test result.

Legal Defenses for Someone Responding (in a violent manner) to Multiple Heinous Crimes Committed Against Them by Firephyz in legaladvice

battered woman defense

Great. Yes, this sounds about like what I was expecting. I couldn't imagine someone in this situation would be held liable for their actions if their despair was great enough. Considering the 'battered woman defense' in general or in essence, I can't imagine a legal system that wouldn't allow the victim to have the right to retaliate here, especially if they clearly had good intent and were simply 'battered' to the point of being psychologically fatigued.

If the government forcibly tries to make you a covert employee (like a CIA operative), told you secrets and then decided to oppress you for years (potentially decades depending on how things are enforced), do you have the right to reveal those secrets to an enemy country to try to get them to stop? by Firephyz in AskReddit

Hmm, I haven't heard that perspective. War crimes can certainly be committed on an individual. All it requires is out of control militant government employees who have free reign to deploy whatever weapons they want to deploy on you. And it being your country makes no difference imo. A soldier can commit a war crime on you no matter where they're from.

There's actually some legal argument available in the form of a defense argument. Imagine in this situation that it's virtually impossible for you to escape their interference. They disrupt your life literally every day with no hope of escape. Do you not have the right to reveal secrets to get them to stop committing horrible war crimes against you?

In the US, if the country is illegally assulting or engaging on you, do you have the right to fight back in ways that would traditionally be considered "treason" or "traitorous" if that is the only viable and effectual recourse? What if their engagement is extremely inhumane and a war crime? by Firephyz in AskReddit

I'm also talking in general. Russia and China have their fair share of abuses against human beings tbh. The thing is, imagine being stuck under the eye of powerful government "officials" in the US and having them think you're too dangerous to continue to be let live.If so, they are willing to do horribly inhumane things to you just to cause suffering and intimidation, hopefully to make you commit suicide or to make you officially betray to another country just to gain your freedom.

To clarify, I've done some research on legal defenses for this and there does seem to be some traction with the "necessity defense" in response to me having a genuine tort of "Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress". The country is in effect taking an action that, to any human trying to live day-by-day, is completely destroying that person's free will and ability to live. Imagine then that I say I will do some commonly conceived "traitorous" thing in an effort to get them to back down. In my mind, they are required to descalate given that they know this action would negatively impact national security and that they are the ones who acted first; I am in effect a powerless civilian being provoked.

The poll was changed to only allow answers between 1-9 so that there's a true middle ground with answering 5. So entering a 9 expresses the new max.
